Decided to look at some stats to see if there was a major advantage one over the other. I'd think UM would have to have a much bigger advantage to overcome the head to head stat.

OOC had WSU vs. 2 FBS, an NAIA and D-II. UM had three FCS and one D-II.

In the end, the similarities with only a couple of exceptions are eerie.

Scoring O-36.8-34.3 WSU
Scoring D-18.5-20.5 UM
Pass O-322.7-239.5 WSU
Pass D-209.1-217.9 UM
TO margin-+10-+5 WSU
Rush O-170.9-128.9 UM
Rush D-109.0-116.2 UM
Total O-451.6-410.5 WSU
Total D-318.1-334.1 UM
First Downs-239-236 UM
D. First Downs-182-95 UM
Sacks-27-27 Even (UM has two more yards lost)
Red Zone O-89.4%-74.0% WSU
Red Zone D-79.4%-80.0% WSU
3rd Down Conv.-43.4-43.3 UM
D. 3rd Down Conv.-31.8-34.5 WSU
Sacked-17-42 WSU (Big difference)

Aside from times sacked and how they get their yards, stats seem pretty even. Those forty yards Weber is ahead by is likely due to the sacks suffered by UM.

I guess since the stats are so even, you need to use a different measuring stick. Head to head seems nice. :D

I am just fine with head-to-head. Weber has that edge plain and simple. I am not sure why anyone is debating if we deserve a higher seed based on that. I think it's just a little prediction on the mindset of the NCAA as far as the cash Wash-Griz brings in during the playoffs.
