Seeded #4 Colorado falls to D-I newbie South Dakota St. in UMinn stadium. xhurrayx xhurrayx xhurrayx xbowx xbowx

The win was the first by any SDSU team in any Division I championship tournament, the first by a Summit League team in the women’s soccer and marked the first time since 2006 that a seeded team was beaten in the first round. The Buffaloes (14-5-4) were seeded fourth in the Notre Dame Region of the 64-team field.

The Jacks (15-4-1) – who were not eligible for the Division I postseason until this year –will face either Minnesota or Marquette in the second round at 1 p.m. Sunday in St. Paul.

Texas State loses 4-0 to Texas A&M. A rough end to a great season. First loss for the Bobcats since OOC play.

Ill-informed Bobcat. Texas A&M 5-2.

Great win for the Jackrabbit women. Nice to win a post-season game at the DI level. There are still a ton of naive South Dakota residents that think the move to DI was foolish and that we'd never compete. The inferioirity complex amongst some South Dakotans is pervasive.

We get the Gophers today. Going to be tough but if our goal keeper can stay hot we have a great chance. I don't know the stats right off the top of my head but I do know Colorado had a heck of a lot shots/kicks on goal in the first half than we did. The big game is in Carbondale but I will be keeping my eye on the soccor score.

As for the women's BB team. They struggled big time but beat Missouri again this year. We get Maryland over Thanksgiving and I see they got thumped by TCU last night. The Jackrabbit women are damn good.

Congrats to these FCS schools for advancing to the 2nd round of the college Cup.

James Madison
San Diego
William & Mary
Northeastern
South Dakota St.

All these teams face tough opponents from FBS conferences in the next round.

Great success combined with some luck, let's see some/all of these teams make the round of 16.
