It's ESPN, I expect fluff with little substance.
Glad to see John Taylor's name on there.

Its funny, most of the people commenting don't seem to understand the scope of the article. The list is a breakdown of the best players from HBCUs, not the best black college football players...xsmhx

Send your questions or comments to ESPN.
Or you can do one yourself if its that important to have a HWCU team. If you do it, would you include African Americans?

I got it...
B vs BofEd was what 1954?
Do the research and come up with an all SEC, ACC, Big 10, or better yet do an "All NCAA" team pre 1954 and tell me what you come up with. I added "All NCAA" because HBCU's weren't allowed in the NCAA at the time and regulated to the NAIA.
Then I'll quickly come back with some BS remark about "Hey, where are all the brothas?!" xrolleyesx

I grew up a huge Dallas Cowboy fan. Good to see Rayfield Wright and Ed "Too Tall" Jones on the list. I also loved watching the Dolphins back in the day and Larry Little was one hell of a great gaurd.

And Carlos Leech from SU as the place kicker/Kick off specialist. Reggie Roby from Famu should also have been the punter.

Alcorn State alums who deserve to be mentioned include:
FB Jack Spinks, drafted by the Steelers (also played guard and tackle in those days); played for Pittsburgh, the Chicago Cardinals and the Giants. :)
WR Donald Driver, three-time Pro Bowl selectee, drafted by Green Bay in 1999 and playing his 10th NFL season. Through the 9th game of 2008, Driver has 544 catches for 7,489 yards and 41 touchdowns. xsmiley_wix
QB Steve McNair, three time Pro Bowler and 2003 co-MVP. In thirteen seasons, Air McNair amassed 2733 completions for 31,304 yards and 174 touchdowns, plus 3,590 and 37 TDs on the ground. xthumbsupx

Lots of great punters, but not many great kickers to choose from. Oglesby lasted less than one season in the NFL.
Andrew Paterini had a distinguished career at Hampton, finishing #1 in kick scoring in the FCS in 2005 with 104 points, and #5 in 2004 and 2006.
Southern always seems to pick up good kickers, and the SWAC has risen from the dregs of the kicking class in years past to produce a bevy of top competitive kickers the last couple of seasons.

Great picks. Two great kickers. I also would have selected Steve McNair because he finished third in the Heisman race. But Doug Williams was great. Very good list.
