Some solid players in this game...Aston, Bomar, Brown...Connors, Babin and...well, very interested to see if Lucas takes it to the Kats.

SLU looks to regroup for final games (Baton Rouge Advocate)


HAMMOND — After surrendering 38 first-half points in a 38-24 loss to Texas State last week that Southeastern Louisiana University defensive back Tommy Connors said was “a step back” for the Lions, SLU is looking to get back into the win column with two games remaining on the schedule.

And acting SLU coach Tommy Condell is hoping the Lions (4-6, 1-4 Southland Conference) can pull together and possibly learn a little more about themselves, starting with Saturday’s 6 p.m. game at Sam Houston State (4-4, 2-3).

“When everything’s going good and things are hunky- dory, you don’t know what kind of man you are,” Condell said Tuesday on the SLU campus. “This is where it counts. This is where all the chips really actually mean something, not when you’re 8-0 and 10-0 and it’s easy. It’s these times now where these seniors come into play … and learn more about becoming men.”

The Huntsville Hornets playoff game is on KHVL 1490 on Saturday at 7 p.m while New Waverly is on KSAM 101.7.

I've got another commitment...so this is the first game I will miss the entirety of all season via one form or fashion.
