Yale 1st and 10 on their own 6. This is at least the 3rd time Yale has started inside their own 10.

Yale moved the ball better than they have in weeks, but could not make the critical play once they got in Brown territory.
Brown looks a little out of sync. I expect more from Brown in the 2nd half, especially with their edge in the coaching dept.

McLeod 12 carries for 41 yards.
Suprised since he had one run of about 25 yards. He's still getting stopped behind the line a lot.

It would've been nice to score before the half, even a field goal. Yale was moving the ball well before the interception.

The last time I remember seeing the Yale Band at Brown was 1988.
Not sure why they've never made the short trip to Providence. They usually go up to Brown when Yale's hockey team plays there.

I don't think Yale has had a 3 and out in the game, but they just cannot sustain their drives enough to score TD's.
Brown ball on their own 10.

November 8th, 2008, 02:47 PM
Bad face mask penalty on Yale after they had stopped Brown on 3rd down on the Brown 20. It wasn't even close to the play.

Yale's needs to get rid of that delayed handoff to McLeod. The defense always gets him before he can get started.
Brown ball on their own 17....now on the 35.
6 minutes left.

Cornell 30, Dartmouth 7, 3rd Quarter
If Yale can hold on to beat Brown, it'll set up a HUGE game in Philadelphia next week between Harvard and Penn (both 4-1).

YFF. What have you heard about McLeod? I don't think the O-line is doing him any favors, but he just seems to run right into piles when a move that he made the last 3 years would at least get positive yardage. Any rumors?

Heavens pardon me for saying this, but thank goodness for Yale. Way to go Elis.
I had to spend the morning miserably floundering through the MPRE (ethics exam for law students) instead of following our beloved Ivy League football (it should be an ethics violation to have such exams on Saturdays). What a nice reward to return home to.
Maybe H-Y will regain some of that early-season buzz now. Can't wait to fly back to Boston in 2 weeks...

Ethics and law? Should those be in the same sentence?

We played like total crap today, ending our hopes for our first perfect Ivy season ever. Hopefully we will play well in the next two games.
Now we have to hope that Harvard beats Penn and Yale beats Harvard or Penn beats Harvard but loses to Cornell.

Yale has a very good defense but there is no doubt that Brown was just out of sync today. Maybe a little bit of a hangover from the win at Penn, which was the game of the year for Brown. Plus the Yale offense finally held on to the ball and kept the "D" from wearing out.

Sad comment on the media coverage for Brown in Providence by The N.H. Reister blogger:
http://portal31nhr.blogspot.com/
One last thought, I will think twice before I criticize the Connecticut media for its lack of coverage of the Yale football team after what happened on Saturday. Outside of a writer from the Associated Press, there was not one member of the Providence or Brown media in the post-game press conference. Brown coach Phil Estes wasn't even summoned to the press conference because there was no local media there to cover the event. That's pretty hard to believe considering that the Bears were in first place in the Ivy League playing a huge game. I know times are tough in the newspaper business with layoffs and early retirements happening at an alarming rate, but I believe the Brown team deserved better from its local media.

Wow, that is pretty sad. I'd expect that from the larger markets in the league (Philadelphia, NYC, Boston) but not from Providence. I mean what else is going on that the local sports media has to cover instead of Brown football? URI? Providence basketball? The Providence Bruins? Yeah, right.
At least with the New Haven media, we know why Yale football gets ignored......UCONN.
Providence, you have no excuse. Brown deserves better.

All I've heard is McLeod separated his shoulder in the Columbia game.

The projo just covers Boston sports (and some URI and PC basketball), but very little when it comes to local sports. It's really sad that we get so little coverage, and as a result, very few people in the city or even on campus care at all about Brown sports.
