WOW!! With the A10 going up in flames today. The GFC could possibly get 3 in the dance  ISU, UNI, and WKU all could be on life support.

I like the sound of a Tri GFC championship with a win by UNI by I would rather be a sure bet to go to the playoff's with a SIU win.

Based on what? You're competing with Furman, GSU, SIU, Richmond, Cal Poly, Texas State, Umass, and YSU for an atlarge. I don't see anyway Coastal gets in over those teams.

Skinny, how bad was Braden Jones' fumble? Pretty much the turning point.

skinny_uncle
November 12th, 2005, 09:26 PM
Wasn't really a fumble. It looked like the ball was not only down, it may have been out of bounds. Officials are only human though. Can't blame the game on just one call. The Salukis had their chances to put the game away. Sanders just played big at the end.
(This game sure had the feel of a playoff game).

Agreed, the fumble they gave us probably wasn't. The one before probably was. Make up call?!? That was the only turnover of the game if I recall, and it was the game changer. SIU scores there it's over. Good luck to SIU next week, take care of business and we'll see ya in Chattanooga!!!

Regardless it was a great game and I was glad to be able to listen to the 4th quarter. I am always amazed to hear the I-A apologists explain how great it is that the regular season has real consequences under the BCS format. Well this is one game that has huge consequences and everyone knew it.

Watching replays on TV, it was apparent that neither fumble ever happened. The ground cannot cause a fumble and the ball was down both times before it got away. It doesn't matter anyhow, the officials (ahem) are always right. This ain't the NFL. We don't have challenges. Don't get me wrong. I'm not blaming the loss on the bad call. The roughing the kicker call late in the first half probably should have been a 5 yard penalty instead of a 15 that gave the Dawgs a first down. At least it did not look that flagrant to me. There were at least a couple of other questionable calls in the game. That is the breaks. You have to deal with it and go on. We lost this game. Time to get ready for next week.

My pain medicine has waited long enough.
Good night all.

I really have to give credit to Southern Illinois. You guys played a great game and you had a great crowd show up that was loud for the Salukis. Hope to see you in the play offs.

On another note, I still can't get over how loud the dome was. I mean was screaming to my buddies right next to me and they still had no idea what I said. My what a metal roof does to a loud bunch of 15,500 fans! :D
