It's amazing how bad the ACC sucks after it raided the Big East. Miami and FSU went downhill fast. Virginia Tech and BC are slightly better than average football teams.
I remember several "experts" predicting that the ACC will be the number one college football conference after the addition the of the Big East schools. Not so fast. Neither conference deserves an autobid to the BCS. I'd rather see Utah, Boise St and Ball St than any ACC or Big East school (an I'm a Big East fan).
At the moment the raid appears to be a lose-lose for the ACC and Big East.

Harsh. GT, I feel, is going to get this conference back on track, especially if they can beat UGA this year.

FSU and Miami are actually back on the rise...next season should be a different story.

Florida State has found what they were lacking the last few years. And that's a QB. Miami is really young but they are improving every week. FSU vs .Miami in the ACC title game will help the league.

Perhaps. I expect the ACC will be fine in the long run (not sure about the Big East yet). But you have to admit, the ACC is not as strong as most predicted.

I agree. Bowden, who I think will leave in the next few years, has Jimbo Fisher and a QB. That...is a deadly combo. This QB has some skill...and moxie.
They look like a different team down there. Christian Ponder is only a soph I believe...so I expect good things out of the 'Noles over the next two years. Look at Penn State.
HUGE PARALLELS.

The logjam remains in the ACC. Another big weekend looms BC pays a visit to Tallahassee (they've had success there since joining the league), hopefully NCSU has an upset in them against Wake, Maryland takes on UNC, and Miami and VaTech face off on Thursday.

I'm just glad there is a decent FBS team from North Carolina right now. The fact that it is Carolina is even better for me. ECU & Wake looked good at the begining of the year not so much now....

Well I say they obviously haven't played as many conference games, so we will have to wait and see.
Also, agreed that teams such as Miami and FSU (regretfully) are on the rise and the ACC will get better. I see Miami winning at least one conference championship in the next 1-3 years.

I couldnt either and that is the biggest problem with the acc... you dont want to split it north and south bc then you have the fsu and miami in the same division and what do you do with the four NC schools... it is tough...

Boston College
Duke
Wake Forest
South
Florida St
Clemson
Miami
Georgia Tech
North Carolina
North Carolina St.
It could work but FSU/Miami for a divisional title would be a tough one. But I was never big on the Canes coming into the league anyway. (You could arrange the NC schools any way you want.)

Problem is if you are only thinking about football. But given basketball schedules and games people want you can't just do anything.
Hurt a lot already for Basketball that WF and UNC are only once per year now. And Dook/UNC will most likely always need to be in the same half, due to the 2 games per season.

I agree. There's really no way to keep people happy. As a FSU fan one basketball game against UNC/Duke is good enough for me. xlolx

There are no divisions in basketball.
Just one conference standing. They play a 2 "major" rivals every year....i.e. UNC plays Duke & State twice every year.

True, but UNC/WFU and NCSU/UNC should happen twice a yearxsmhx

I don't mind the parity in the ACC. I think I'd rather have that than have just one or two really really good teams and a bunch of sucky teams.

I'll be buying my ticket to the Championship game this weekend. Hopefully the Noles take care of business.

I agree 100%. The idea that in state teams in the same conference do not play each other twice in Basketball and may not play each other at all in football drives me crazy.
