Will it be OK, Texas Tech, Alabama?

Alabama without a doubt IMO.

Alabama

TT could very well jump Penn State for #2, but I doubt they jump the Tide for the top spot (at least, when all the votes are tallied)

This is how I see the BCS coming out.

Alabama
Penn State
Oklahoma
USC
Texas Tech
Texas

I should have made it public. That's OK. I didn't think about the BCS Standings. It should be dramatically different. xthumbsupx

Tech has to be above OU since they beat Texas who beat OU.

Ehh that's a tough one. Texas beat Oklahoma on a neutral field in basically an even game. Tech pulled out a last second thriller at home. I could see OU being ahead of Tech but i don't think it's likely.

I know it's going to be bama but, how can you have a poll of 5 teams and not have USC on it? Not saying USC deserves to be #1 but just seems a little strange to not have them on there.

USC beat the ever so powerful Washington. Big whoopdeedoo. Florida beat Georgia. UGA>UW.

USC lost to Oregon State

Oregon State lost to Penn State

And the Pac-10 stinks this year

USC might not even win the Pac-10 xeekx

i dont buy that they beat that team who beat that team argument.

I think Oklahoma is the better of the two and we will find out in three weeks

I guess you didn't understand me, I never said USC deserved to be #1 and I wasn't knocking what the gators did. Just was curious as to why you left them off.

haha. Check their schedule. There is no reason why they won't win the Pac -10

USC still has a tremendous defense. Take out the Oregon State game and they have given up 30 points in seven games including 20 total in the last five games since losing to Oregon State.

If this years teams from USC and Oregon State played 1 million times, Oregon State would win the game once.

In hillhound's defense, the question was: Who will be #1?

USC shouldn't be in that discussion xnodx xpeacex

Yeah, but what else do you have to go on for mid-season polls?

Alright in that case why is OU on there? or why is Florida on there? OU beat a team they were supposed to beat. Florida was the higher rank and granted they did destroy Georgia but they were still supposed to win. They aren't going to leapfrog 'bama just with those wins.

Yup i would have loved it if Penn State stayed at #3 and was forced to play Oregon State again in the Rose Bowl. That would have been priceless.

The biggest problem is at this point the 3 undefeated teams have played cupcake schedules. I think they're a product of that more so than actually being the best teams.

Oklahoma was ranked 4th at the time. So they still have a slim chance at #1 if Alabama had lost. Texas Tech did beat the #1 team so that's why I included them. It was an outside chance for the Raiders you just never know how the media will vote. Florida State jumped almost 10 places after their win last week so anything can happen. :)

That would be Oregon. State's on right now against Arizona State. They're winning 14-13.

I agree. This conversation should really just be Alabama, Penn State and Texas Tech right now

Close, that was Oregon xrulesx

OSU is currently playing Arizona State (though they're losing xwhistlex)

Ditto for me.....I still assume PSU will win out and get in the national title game, but they're probably out if Bama and TexTech go undefeated. PSU didn't play anyone non-conference and the Big 10 is horrendous. There could be a debate against a Florida type team with one loss and a bunch of good wins, but I'd still go with the undefeated in that case.

I say Bama. Baton Rouge will be jumping this week.

My ballot (if I had one) would be:

Alabama
Penn State
Texas Tech

I agree that if Texas Tech and Alabama finish undefeated they will play in the BCS title game. I think an undefeated Penn St. should get in over any one loss team. Big 10 is not that strong this year, but Penn St. has been impressive.

I called a friend of mine here who is a rabid Longhorn fan. Right now he is in a state of shock because Texas lost. I rubbed it in telling Bama and Penn State will be in and they will be out. But he wasn't buying it.

He still believes that Texas has a shot because their remaining games are Baylor, Kansas and A&M (3-0 as far as he is concerned). Tech still has Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Baylor (which he says will be 1-2).

He predicts that Texas will end up at 13-1, winning the Big 12 South and the Big 12 Championship and the "FICTIONAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP". Tech will end up at 10-2 and a bowl bid.
