Worth noting, since I think this one may not get the proper attention it deserves...
Jeremy Moses went 57 of 85 today in a 34-31 double-overtime loss to Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas.
With 85 attempts, he passed the previous single-game attempts record of 83 set by Drew Brees at Purdue in 1998. The former record for completions was 56, set by Jarrod DeGeorgia at then-Division II Wayne State in 1996.

How did you lose? And only score 31 points?

He threw two picks and his team also lost two fumbles. Four turnovers for the 'Jacks to the 'Kats one. That'll negate having so many more plays and time of possession every time.
But damn, you read the box score and everything but the turnovers makes it look like SFA should've won by a large margin.

SHSU is very lucky not to be 0-4 in conference.

Lomax's records wouldn't have counted for FCS, since Portland State was DII until 1998 (Lomax played in the 80s), but they would have counted for all class NCAA records.

Still uncovering records from this one. The latest from the SLC release...
Stephen F. Austin set an NCAA Division I record with 116 total offensive plays Nov. 1 in the loss at Sam Houston State. Montana had 112 plays vs. Montana State in 1952, while Buffalo held the FCS record with 115 plays vs. Connecticut in 1997. Moses also set an FCS record and came within one of the FBS record with his 93 total plays. The previous FCS record was 89 set by Thomas Leonard of Mississippi Valley vs. Texas Southern in 1986, while the FBS record is 94 set by TCU’s Matt Vogler vs. Houston in 1990.

Another illustration, I think, of the need to change some rules to swing the pendulum back the defense's way some and put the kabash on these junk offenses. Going back to the rule where offensive linemen can't extend their arms to block would be a good start.

I assume they were in the sprint offense to get 116 plays off
