Neither the Yankees nor Mets stadiums will have a view of the Manhattan skyline? I'm not even sure if it's possible from Flushing, but this seems like a real shame. Maybe it's because of the direction of the sun, but Pittsburgh, Philly, Baltimore... all were able to do it. Help me out NY fans.

IIRC, MLB has rules pertaining to the direction home plate faces in relation to the sun. I agree, it is a shame there will be no views of the skyline.

They over inflated construction/area impact cost to the tune of $700 million and did not get a view? xlolx

New Yorkers. xlolx

Yeah, I pulled up the new Yankee Stadium and even though it's right next to the old one, the view got possibly worse. One of the greatest skylines in the world and nothing. :(

In Atlanta, they screwed up and put the 755 club in the outfield, so it blocked the great view of downtown you get from the stadium. You can still see the skyline from the upper deck at Turner Field, but not from the lower seats.

I've been to both PNC Park and Camden Yards, and those are both fantastic stadiums!

Philly's is like Atlanta in that it is away from downtown in order to make money off parking.

You cant turn the stadium, as stated, because of sun. And frankly, you couldnt see that much with the view. Plus, CENTERFIELD IS NOT AS OPEN LIKE THE OTHER STADIUMS. Lot's of signage.

Will the new Football Stadium for the Jets and Giants have a retractable roof? I hope not. I hopethat the NY Football teams don't add to the NFL becoming a larger version of Arena League Football.

Are you saying the Ballpark is away from downtown just to make money off parking? xeyebrowx

I love the Philly sports complex due to the convenient parking and easy access right off of 95. They can have two sporting events going on at once and still have adequate parking for everyone. Philly is by far the best pro sports complex venue I have ever been to. (not that I've been to a whole lot) In comparison Baltimore sucks due to it's limited open parking lots and limited tailgating for football but does have a cool atmosphere for baseball with all the bars around Camden yards. The Redskins make you park in Tinbucktoo and shuttle to the stadium unless you have a parking pass for the stadium lot and you have to take the Metro to the new baseball stadium.

too far away/too much development in the area
and of course you couldn't get away with building a stadium anywhere even close to Manhattan, it really sucks.. :( both stadiums look like they will be spectacular, especially Citi Field. New Yankee Stadium looks a bit to much like the old one, which in my opinion isn't an attractive building..

nope, some people wanted it but they couldn't get the approved funding, i'm glad.. although i would love to see a super bowl in the New York area.. it would be pretty sweet

yes, but there is quite a difference between seeing the Empire State Building and the Chrysler building and seeing the Skyline of Minneapolis

Now, The Cardinals got it really right.. that's just awesome
