New York - Major League Baseball and Fox have announced a plan to battle the low ratings thus far for the World Series.

Bud Selig announced moments ago that beggining Saturday night, the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers will begin a seven game series to determine the fans choice champion.

"This matchup will bring us the two teams a vast majority of eastcoast and westcoast fans wanted. We hope the games will bring in enough money to offset the poor ratings that resulted from the Rays being in the series". Selig said.

Selg also said a special trophy will be made and presented to the winner of the series.

When notified Red Sox slugger David Ortiz said it will take him months to get back in form of striking out two out of three atbats. JD Drew added that he never wants to play at Dodger Stadium again and has said he has a doctors appointment in the morning that he needs to go schedule.

Philadelphia Phillies fans who heard about this as they celebrated a World Series win that ended earlier tonight got very upset and chucked batteries at this reporter.

Phillies players in the clubhouse were too drunk to care.

Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon said he was looking forward to the series and hopes fans will watch and forget all about the dispicable series his team just completed.
