Me too brother. Balled like a baby. 25 years of disappointment getting out of my system. I forgave Donovan McNabb, Buddy Ryan, Smarty Jones, Eric Lindros, and Mitch Williams for making me such a cynical son of a b!tch for so many years.

There's nobody like Harry the K. Pat the Bat with the big double off the wall. Brad Lidge goes perfect all year. Cole Hamels becomes the new Mr. October. They win bc the whole lineup hits, we get great starting pitching and have a lockdown bullpen.

Savor it!

Thanks for this, dude, nothing like hearing Harry the K - a bonafide legend. Pretty cool that Fox played his call on the last out just moments after the game ended. An odd bit of trivia, Harry and Richie Asburn (Harry's deceased longtime broadcast partner, Hall of Famer, and member of the '50's Whiz Kids - for the non-Philly guys) didn't call the 1980 World Series live - there were weird rules back then preventing the local crew from doing games. I think they recorded something after the fact.

Our daughter "Sprig" Ivy, who's normally focused and intense, whooped and hollered for at least 15 minutes after the final out. I had a good phone call with our son, Junior Ivy, who wasn't even born in 1980. He's enjoying "his" first championship as well.

Second championship I've gotten to share with my kids (Hens '03). One of the best things about the Cups in '74 and '75 and WS in '80 was that I got to share them with my father. I was just the right age to make them special and my kids are that same age as I was then. Very satisfying. xthumbsupx xthumbsupx xthumbsupx

I hope to one day have the feeling of living in the area when a team wins a title. I wasn't here when the Bucs or Bolts won their titles. Seeing those trophies in cases doesn't have the same feeling of being in town when they win.

As a young Cowboy fan, I didn't have the $$$ to see them play during their Super Bowl run (I was in high school). I taken trips to see them play and if they have a great season, I'll be here in Tampa for the Super Bowl. Probably outside but I'll be here none the less. xlolx

Depends upon where you are. I was in Mesa the night the D'Backs clinched the World Series over the Yankees. People were excited, and there was some yelling and screaming and cars honking, but it was nothing like what you see in Philly or Boston.

It'll be a cluster f&#% everywhere. Don't let not getting a stadium seat stop you. Some of the most fun will be around City Hall. That's where the ticker tape portion will be.

Get you ass down there tomorrow!

FWIW, I went in queues for both CBP and LFF at 3:01. I still haven't seen any movement on CBP. The Linc started me at 3 minutes, went as high as 8 minutes, and then slowly came back down and I finally got in around 3:15-20ish. I went right back in to LFF after I got my first set and it's been stuck at 15 mins.

Ehh i don't feel like driving down and standing there for 3 hours to get to see the team drive by for 30 seconds and then that's it. Will it be an experience, yes, but IMO not worth the headaches.

I'm waiting on my friend who i'm suppose to go with to see if he had any luck getting any.

I was rooting for the Rays to win last night, but only because I didn't want the season to end quite yet. As a baseball fan, I would have loved to see Hamels pitch (and win) a Game 7.

Either way, though, the Phillies are admirable World Series champs, and should have a good shot at winning it again next year. This is a well-deserved title for the team and its fans.

I didn't bother with the stadiums - I'm just going down for the parade stuff. Bringing the wife and 3 kids (inlcuding one who's an infant). Just the atmosphere is enough reason to go (that and the penchant for Philadelphia teams to have long periods of time in between titles). Just hoping the trains aren't too mobbed going in - the 5 year old has a Halloween parade and party tomorrow at preschool and while I'll pulling him out early from the party I still want him to go to the Halloween parade. It'll be tight getting down there if SEPTA screws this up. But we'll be there!!!

Oh, the wife stood in line at Modells for 2 hours around lunchtime and scored a lot of World Series merchandise. The lines around those stores are crazy!!! And my mother-in-law works right next to City Hall and she walked across the street to the Inquirer/Daily News printers and scored me a copy of each paper. The extra runs they did all sold out in most places before 7AM and I was worried I'd be out of luck. Fortunately, the papers decided to restart the presses (something they hadn't done in decades apparently) and they came out with another full run this afternoon.

Yeah, it's safe to say the area is going bonkers.

Don't know if I'll use them but I got 5th row tix at the Linc. Will be in S. Philly early in the AM with the 2 boys & the wife, will watch somewhere between Washington & South.

Happiest night of my life. There are no words. Filing onto Broad with the crowds, watching the girls making out, high fiving the cops, seeing fireworks bounce off buildings, bathing in champagne. Incredible. I had never seen a championship for any team I rooted for. Nothing beats Philly!

And I scored my bosses two CBP tickets for tomorrow! I love this city! I love this team! Go Phils!!!

Much appreciated. Oddly, I am less versed in SEPTA than I am the DC Metro and the NYC Subway. I had planned on taking the R2 to 30th, and then connecting down to B & P. This will be a LOT easier IF there is parking. We plan to get there very early. Do they allow bottles on SEPTA trains? Just wondering.:D

Cole Hamels just did the Top Ten List on David Letterman. Here are the ones I remember (paraphrasing):

My favorite:
-This must be how the Yankees used to feel.

-Maybe John McCain will call me "Cole the Pitcher"

-How cool a name is Cole Hamels?

-How can I get excited about the World Series when the country's economic outlook is the worst it's been since the third quarter of 2001?

-Hey, is that the Phillie Phanatic hitting on my wife?

-But seriously, how cool a name is Cole Hamels?
