Looks like the SWAC is never boring. If Southern (wins their next two games) beats Grambling (who wins their other games) in the Bayou Classic and PVU keeps winning. Ths SWAC West could be determined by a coin flip (http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/southern/33496534.html?showAll=y&c=y).

If they are going to use the SEC model, which uses the BCS rankings for tie breaker, why didn't SWAC use the GPI as their tie breaker?xconfusedx xconfusedx

Saw the SEC bases things off of BCS rankings...I think the Big XII does it.

Guess it would be tough for an FCS conference to base a tiebreaker off of polls, but doesn't the CAA do that? Or am I mistaken?

Thanks for sharing, 813Jag. Glad the SWAC is being proactive (or perhaps it's SU's beat writer) in clearing this subject before it gets too late and there's confusion.

What is it with coin flips being the last resort of deciding who gets the conference championship? Why can't they do with who has the highest point differential in conference games or the most yards of offense or something?

It'll be interesting who comes out on top.

"Lewis also said the SWAC decided not to use total points as a tiebreaker, fearing that teams would be inclined to run up scores on purpose."

Oh well...I say if a coach wants to run the score up, then let him run the score up.
