Hey MSUfan - I said "maybe not this year"
They are one of the youngest teams in the league. Oden's first game, Fernandez's first game - and a 20 point loss aint nothin to write home about but when it's on the road against the defending Western Conference Champions I'm still eligible to do some chest pounding. xlolx
Scary thing is - Oden didn't last long. Jeeesus I hope we didn't blow another first round pick.
EDIT: Oh I see you're a Lakers fan, in that case we'll see you in the Rose Garden - where Kobe and the boys don't often fare too well.

Tmac, Yao, and Artest is the new big three!!!
and in response to the crap I'm bound to get...
1) We have a great team chemistry right now, Artest isn't going to ruin the team from the inside out, like some thought a few months ago.
2) Yao is one hundred percent healthy.
3) Tmac is still a super star. He can't go as long as he used to, but that's okay, cause we've got some great players coming off the bench.
4) Our problems with the PG position have seen some improvement with the emergence of Aaron Brooks.

The only reason I root for the Rockets.....For obvious reasons. Great choice by Houston....xnodx

All about improving. There's still 81 games left. As good as the Blazers are, we were not going to win all of them.

Being a long time laker fan, I hate to say this.
BOSTON is going to be damm hard to beat.
These guy's got a half year of actual playing time and a summer learning each other.
Got decent pickups in the off-season and can add a so-so bench player at the trading deadline later on.
Boston will win close to 70 games this year in the regular season.
All those people that roasted Danny Ainge for the last year or so should be embarrased right now.

Yeah, but who sees these things coming like that? We needed a huge center for others to double team when we have great outside shooters in Roy, Jack, Outlaw, and now Fernandez.
This young team surprised everyone last season, and with a deep roster, great coaching from McMillan - we were hoping Oden was the one to finally push them over the hump.
We'll see what happens, the dude's just too big for his bones.

I can see why people don't like the NBA much, but the last couple seasons have brought it back in a big way xthumbsupx

Why you say that?
The Rockets haven't had many ego problems since Yao joined, everybody just sees him and seem to emulate his humility.
Also, Ron Artest is now playing for his favorite coach he's ever played for. If you remember, a few years ago when Ron Artest played for Rick Adelman in Sacramento, Artest actually offered to reduce the money on his contract if it could mean that Adelman could stick around. That says a lot. Glad to have both of them in Houston now.
