I tend to agree with Coach Ayers. Watching the replay of the game we have far too many missed blocks and overthrown passes. Hopefully we will put a full game together on Friday.

Well, shoot, I believe the Go Upstate website must have gone offline. It was working when I posted it.

Worked for me, but here's an excerpt.
Hopefully,” he said, “we’ll step up to the plate and do better next time.”
Better? Wofford scored eight offensive touchdowns on its first 10 possessions, racked up 300 yards by halftime and never turned the ball over in a dominating performance. The Terriers’ defense held firm for the most part with four sacks and three interceptions.
And that was against the third-ranked team in the country.
“People are saying it was the best offensive game they’ve ever seen at any level,” Ayers said. “But if you look at it closely, there are a lot of areas we can improve. As good as that game was, we had guys who were not executing as well as they can. We had missed tackles, missed blocks, missed reads. There is a myriad of things we can continue to work on. We should not be satisfied. There is another level and we have to get to it. ]Quite frankly, I think that’s what it’s going to take this week.[/I]” (my bold and italics).

The article is all in hope of his team not letting up. Atleast thats what it sounds like to me.

It's good to see that Go Upstate.com is back on line now. Anyway, Ayers sometimes strikes me as a perfectionist. But I also know he is a darn good coach,so I can't really argue with what he thinks too much. He knows that if we make mistakes on offense and let opportunities go by the boards in Boone, we will not win up there. I think that's what he is trying to make the team understand. We have to execute to perfection to win at The Rock!
