Nice write-up from the Houston Chronicle on Bobby Reid. Not sure if this is the first, very thorough article on Reid and why he landed at Texas Southern instead of hanging up the cleets, but it was tastefully written.

TSU went 4-40 prior to Reid and this year, they are 3-5. Regardless of the schedule, which has been questioned on numerous fronts, I guess we can all attest to the fact that TSU was a program that needed to find a way to win, even if that meant it was against NAIA or other sub-Div I foes. They needed a leader on the field and they got one.

Reid has a young team around him that may develop over their next few years, but that veteran leadership is something that finds it's way down the pipeline. I do not think Reid will get a sniff of the NFL, but his impact on TSU this year may allow for the Coles, Spears, LeBlanc and company to turn the program around...

We'll see. Got to get some Division I wins (they have not gotten one of those since the 2006 season) which translates to SWAC wins (Alcorn is a good chance today) and continue to upgrade the schedule and get wins from that schedule...Reid may have started the turnaround...

Good article, I actually just finished reading it before coming here. I'm glad I don't have to see Reid play Southern again, he'd be dangerous with an experienced team. He earned lots of respect in Baton Rouge.

This is the one item (beside his obvious academic and athletic prowess that was mentioned) that hits home w/ me:

I feel like I finally found my home

How kids such as BReid THINK they can find a "home" amongst those who they share A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y N-O-T-H-I-N-G culturally common w/ is beyond me. xreadx

How can a man w/ the ilk of "gundy" could ever think he could ever relate culturally or spiritually w/to a young man such as BReid is beyond me. Coaches, like he, see those kids as disposable and replaceable "items" and parens are so stupid and blinded by 'limelight' and pats on the ass to see and understand how their kid will be used by those type people.

Nice piece and I'm glad BReid had an intelligent cousin like Mr LeBlanc ;) lol who could help lead him out of the nightmare that was oklahoma state university and those type memories. xthumbsupx Unfortunately for him, he is an alum of osu so he'll have some ties to them forever. If it were me, I'd burn the degree and never wear orange again in life lol.
