hes not that bad. He can boot it far, doesn't have the accuracy though. Julian Rauch was very forgettable in 2005, look what he turned into.

Yeah, sometimes a player gets stuck and still holds on to the football.

An aside, Lamb has got to learn not to throw bitch fits 10 yards out on the field just because he didn't see his player hammer the QB after the whistle. Some ref is going to have the guts to do his job and toss him.xeyebrowx

No doubt... Furman has a really good defense. I was impressed with the way they were able to get pressure into the offensive backfield all day. Turnovers decided this game. Without those (3) fumbles and (1) INT, App probably loses by 10 - 14.

App fans shouldn't take this game as "we struggled to move the ball and looked inconsistent." Furman had a good game plan and played tough football. Good game! xpeacex

We were fortunate, no make that lucky, to win the game. Four turnovers, two in the red zone, hard to win games doing things like that. I still don't think we look like the composed, polished team we need to be to win it all. Too many stupid mental mistakes and penalties. Without #14 we are simply a good team. But, the thing is we do have him.

oh really? is that why you lost by 12? game plans are money when you win. if you don't win you obviously didn't do things right. Allowing a team to have 319 yards against you isn't stopping their offense either.

I don't agree with your assessment of the D. Yes they gave up some plays but no big ones. The offense gave Furman a short field on that last TD. The D made big plays when they had to and forcing turnovers is always huge. Still not perfect but a far better effort on that side of the ball. When was the last time the D held a SoCon opponent to 14 points.

I saw lots of missed tackles, and FU ran a nice mix of pass/run to throw the D off. There were a number of easy 5-10 yd runs up the middle, added to FU's time of possession, number of first downs, and third down conversions and it added up to a less than stellar performance. Without the forced turnovers this game could have had a much different outcome. FU came out with a strong defensive effort as well - I don't think I've ever seen AE average 1 yd per carry.

The Defense did what it had to do. I think App was expecting Furman to pass but they saw a smashmouth offense. App bended but didn't break. Furman's defensive scheme was hellbent on stopping Armanti from running. The ASU coaching staff took too long to adjust but when they started gunning the medium & long routes they were very successful.

I noticed both teams came out for their entrances at the beginning of the game looking like they weren't hype for the game. I don't know why. It wasn't until FU went up 14-13 that ASU looked like they woke up. After that they looked like a championship team.

Sure it does - it's still a W, but we were only a few key plays from a much tighter game. My larger concern is with Wofford coming this week with a strong running game vs. our defense. It will be a shootout if we can execute offensively. My hat's off to Furman for a well played game.

Sure it does - it's still a W, but we were only a few key plays from a much tighter game. My larger concern is with Wofford coming this week with a strong running game vs. our defense. It will be a shootout if we can execute offensively. My hat's off to Furman for a well played game.

OK I hear you!!! I just want to show the D a little love. They will have to play lights out discipline football this week. Man I would like nothing better than to see them rise to the challenge shut down the Woff O!

Some players can hold on to the football when they get slobber knocked and some can't.

After the fumble on the 1 yard line, our radio guys christened the South end zone "Bobby's Corner" :D

And for the record, all of Furman's points were in the North end zone.

Is that Jim Belushi in a Furple visor?:D :D

Such a typical Furman game. They really get it done and we still win. Poor Bobby Lamb, he probably wakes up in a cold sweet saying "What do we have to do to beat these guys"?

I don't know who the handful of Furman players (and I think a coach or two) were that joined the Mountaineers at midfield for their postgame prayer, but they're one of the reasons I like Furman so much.

Great game, Paladins, and I hope you guys annihilate everyone else you face this year.

I don't think you've ever seen a snap go over his head 50 yards that was taken away from his rushing total i'd believe, thus making his average go way down.

The defense played great, you can't be unhappy with giving up only 14 points regardless of other things that happened, and if you aren't then you honestly need to lower your expectaions a bit.xnonox
