GPI through 11/7

Now I've got a question that pertains to the playoffs. Does the committee utilize a "quality of wins/losses/schedule" more so then simply win/loss record? I've seen some, including Ralph, mention that the GPI has always been very accurate in relation to who makes the playoffs vs its final 16.

This right here says UMass would be a seed if the season ended today. If we win out it will even better our case. No way Hampton gets a seed with their GPI ranked 13th.

Interesting to see a potential 7-4 team in Illinois State ahead of teams like Richmond and Coastal Carolina. We'll see how that plays out! Also, Montana State (currently #9) would still be highly ranked in the GPI if they beat EWU and lose to UM. Hmmm.

You're going to be sorely disappointed - Hampton's getting a seed. A playoff team from last year goes undefeated this year, especially in a year with only one really dominant team (UNH) and the rest of IAA sprinkled with poor records, and are highly ranked in the polls, is getting a seed. Granted, it may be a 3 or 4 seed, but it'll be a seed. As for UMass getting a seed, there would only be two left, and Montana, if it ended today, would get one. The other one would be up for grabs between UMass, Texas St, Furman, and Southern Illinois. If it were those 4 teams I doubt the A10 would get a second seed and both Texas St and SIU have the same record that UMass has but with a IA loss - a seed if it ended today would be doubtful for UMass. UMass wins out and some of these teams trip then it would be more probable.

I know (well Ralph told me :) and I believe him :confused: :D ) that the GPI is a sucessful indicator of which teams get in the playoffs. But I don't think he ever said it was an indicator of who would get seeded. Is this correct?
