We suck, this could be a very boring game for you. Our defense is a bunch of pu$$ies.

Can't play from behind like this. Every week it seems like Dave Cohen does not have this team ready to play. For a defensive guru, we let up way too many yards and points.

We just seem to play with no heart this year. Our defense is so soft on the first drive of every game. In year 3, Cohen has not impressed me.

A few thoughts from this eye-witness account in Orono...
WHAT WORKED:
*The Maine O-line. While much of the credit will go to Brusko, Turcotte, and Session, let's not forget there were five guys up front that usually opened up those holes (and yes, Turcotte was one of them). Seldom did they disappoint today.
*Turcotte the Tank, The Brisk Brusko, and the Speedy Session. One makes holes, one finds them, and one flies through them.
*The Black Hole: Okay, there were some big missed tackles, and giving up three regulation touchdown isn't like the Maine D, but when you only give up a field goal when special teams gives the ball deep in Maine territory, that has to be mentioned, and there were a number of late-game stops that proved huge.
*Hofstra O-line and backup QB: Allowing only one Maine sack is something, and the young Probst showed a lot of poise out there after Christopher was injured.
WHAT NEEDS WORK:
*Fumbles. Maine lost the ball twice on fumbles (although I'd like to see a replay of the second one; many of us thought Brusko was down), and fumbled twice more that Maine retained.
*Pass Interference Penalties: If you're in the secondary, look for the incoming ball! Just shoving the receiver down helps no-one.
*Attendance: 3,690 paid for a conference game on a beautiful October Saturday? Granted, it was a lively bunch that made a good atmosphere, thanks in part to some loud DEFENSE chants down the stretch, but those numbers are more reflective of November.
WHAT'S INEXCUSABLE:
*Missed tackles! Okay, Benjamin and Lewis are not easy to take down, but that's where you have to put more effort into your grabs.
*High punt snaps: Again, Maine was lucky that Hofstra only came out with three on that one.
WHAT'S ENCOURAGING:
*While it's evident that Brusko is not the passer that is Farkas, there are still a few offensive weapons to choose from, and it's good to see that Maine can control the ball and win a shoot-out if needed. It may not be so easy when Northeastern comes to town next weekend. If you're a Maine fan, this one was just plain great to witness. Kudos to the Pride for playing with such passion.

Bainsey, good recap and i will say over the webcast it sounded like the crowd was much bigger, i was shocked it was 3600
As for Maine, your o-line dominated us in the second half and we had not answers. On the opposite side, i was shocked that we only let up 1 sack to a good front four. Probst sounded like he was pretty poised out there, i'm looking forward to seeing him this week when UD comes calling. Good luck the rest of the way.
