I was there in Spartanburg the day he broke the D1 record for career yards. I was very fortunate that he played for GSU all 4 years I was in college there. He spoiled us for a long time. It is a shame that he doesnt get to carry the ball more. I wish that the Bears would either utilize him more or trade him to a team that could use him. Go Eagles!

I heard Benson went out with a sprained ankle, so that made AP the Bears' only running back. Nice to see him step up and show that there's a reason he was the leading rusher in the preseason. I hope the Bears actually use him more now!! Go AP, and Go Eagles!!!

Hey, I even picked him up in FF before this week's game - didn't use him, but now I have reason to hope Jones can't come back right away and Benson's injury is serious enough (gotta love rooting for injuries in FF - very morbid).

If Jones is healthy, though, he'll slide back into the starter's role - but this is a good first step for AP - granted, it was only the 49'ers, but at least he showed something outside of a preseason game.

Haha, I sorta forgot about that Cedrick Benson guy too :o . I do however feel very comfortable saying AP could be a difference-maker for quite a few NFL teams. I mean, anybody that can rip through ASU's defense can EASILY do it in the pros, eh?

Super sub Peterson keeping Bears backfield in motion
By Larry Mayer
http://chicagobears.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=12166
LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Coaches love Adrian Peterson because he's a running back who hits like a linebacker on special teams. But that's only part of what makes the fourth-year pro such a valuable member of the Bears.
Peterson has replaced injured starters Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson each of the past two games and helped lift the Bears to victories over the Saints and 49ers by rushing for 178 yards and 2 touchdowns on 30 carries, a robust 5.9-yard average.
"Adrian Peterson just continues to play well every time we give him an opportunity," said coach Lovie Smith. "The last couple weeks he's really stepped up and made big plays." ...read more (http://chicagobears.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=12166)

The 9er d is really not that bad. The front 7 has some good talent (Bryant Young, Julian Peterson, Derek Smith to name a few. The Bears O line is just getting done this year and it is proven with how all 3 rbs have ran when in the game.
Jones will be back this week against Caro.

Don't forget there was no threat of passing because of the 45mph wind. AP was doing all that running with 9 in the box.

An empowering impediment
Bears' Peterson doesn't allow his stutter to keep him from being active in community

Looks like AP might not play as much this weekend against Carolina. According to ESPN, Thomas will be back for Sunday's game.

Kill'em, think of the good news! Would any team cut AP? He's obviously proven himself to at least be a good 2nd or 3rd string player (and we know he's better than that). I think there are times when NFL players aren't even given a good chance to prove themselves on the field, and AP has had that chance and succeeded. :) :)

It's all in the # of carries. Much easier to avg 9 per when you only get 4 carries.
