Catamounts Advance To Soccer Final

The #4 seeded Catamounts knocked off the #1 seeded Wildcats of Davidson to advance to the SoCon final for only the 2nd time in program history. Kickoff is Sunday afternoon @ 1pm against #2 Furman Lady Paladins.

For the first time in the programs young history, WCU's womens soccer team is the 2005 SoCon Champion defeating Furman 1-0 on Sunday afternoon and gaining the automatic bid to the 2005 Womens College Cup Tourney.

#4 SHSU came just short...

Knocked off a #5 ULM team they tied the week before. Then went on to beat #1 SFA, the first team in SLC history to ever go undefeated without any ties (SFA beat us 6-1 earlier in the year). Sam beat them 3-1. Then, they finally lost. Sam fell 1-0 to #2 NW State on their hometurf a few minutes into overtime.

Sam had NO girls on All-SLC first or second team, but had most of the girls on the All-Tournament team including the MVP (a true freshman!). Talk about R-E-S-P-E-C-T! It's earned now!
