If GSU beats App. State next week, I think most would agree that Elon becomes to favorite to win the conference. Elon has now played and beaten 3 of the 5 SoCon opponents that were top-25 at least one week this season. App. State has only beaten 1.

True, but anyone who follows SoCon football knows that The Citadel can be quite tough in Charleston. Even before The Citadel had a ranked team they could lose 6 straight games and then lose to a top-5 App. State, GSU, or Furman team 14-13.

Side judge placed ball 1 yard short of 1st down. It looked to me and everyone else on the home side that Andre was at least a yard past the marker. I can't wait to see the replay. They would still have had 60 yards to go in 3 min, but we never know if they could have done it. This game was officiated worse than the FU game last year, and that one call was perhaps the worst spot I have ever seen. The replay will tell, but I see a suspension coming down from the league office. I think they really blew that one big time. I hope they will show it on the higgins show. Elon very lucky to get out of Charleston with a win. But congrats to Elon they got the big breaks and the big plays and most of all the big W.

Lembo should be ashamed he has players like 91 who fought his own teammates on the sideline. I have never seen anything like that before. It took 4-5 Elon players to get that kid off the coach. He fought a good 5-10 minutes. Did not really affect the game, but Dogs should have pounced on them at that time. The corps had a field day with that one.

We played good enough to win today. We made some critical mistakes like missing the PAT and fumbled a kickoff with seconds left in the half. To be champions you have to cut that crap out. But we have to keep our heads up and get better...FU is next week.

Four horendously miscalled plays stole the game from us. Roberts was so clearly beyond the first down marker it's not even funny. That ref should have the living **** beat out of him for making such a terrible call. Had we gone on from there and not scored, oh well, good game and see you next year. I have never seen a ball so mis-spotted in my life. Two and a half yards? Are you serious? Blind perhaps? Had the refs actually made some good calls and we had lost, yes, I would say congrats Elon, but not now. Elon was handed that game, giftwrapped and tied, thanks to those God-awful asshole refs.

3. Fighting over a two timing boyfriend?
4. Equipment manager gave them a slotback and a kick returner's pants by mistake.
5. Got some Cramergesic or Atomic Balm in their jock straps.
6. After escaping from Umstead Mental Hospital, they sneaked in and stole the players uniforms, tied them up, and hopped on the bus.

We can't!!! We still have to play Florida who whipped up on LSU yesterday.

But to answer the serious part of your question. I think we still have a chance to win out in the SoCon. We have Wofford and Furman to handle. GSU is a home game for us, so we have a slight advantage, but they are always tough. It looks like we better not overlook Samford, unless App had a bad game. I haven't checked the stats yet. I will have to do that later today as I make my Top 25 ballot. The SoCon is tough and Furman will be tough at in their house.

exactly...but the final call was not imcomplete per Higgins...it was a grasping(that is why the spot was where it placed per the official at half)?...I don't remember if he was in the grasp but either way you look at it, it was called bad by the officials.

Don't forget they called holding on us (one of the few times in the game that it may should have been or possibly shouldn't have been) causing a 60 something yard TD pass to be called back.

Not sure what you mean by that. If your definition of holding includes the right tackle wrapping up and tackling the defensive end that had beat him around the corner, it was the proper call.

Having seen both teams play this year, I thought Citadel looked a bit better than they had before and Elon a bit worse. Still, without the special teams blunders by Elon, they would have won comfortably. I didn't think the officiating was bad, but I did think the bulldogs got the first down on their last play.

The Elon D held El Cid to nearly 200 yards less than in the game last season. I'm seriously curious to know why you think Elon looks a bit worse?

2. Offensively, Scott looked a little off and Hudgins was contained (except for the first play, of course). The other receivers played ok, not great. The rushing game was definitely a plus.

3. Rush defense was very good, pass defense was not.

I did not say they looked terrible, just not as good as when I saw them earlier this year.

BTW- it's a complement to say you did not play your best game and still won on the road against a quality opponent.

Don't sweat it. Some Eloners can be hyper-sensitive except when razzing the opponents. It all goes back to predicting they would be racking up SoCon championships starting within a couple years of joining the private-con. Oh that's right, it was because of hiring the wrong coach. A former App.

1)Hudgins had an off day
2)Very poor officiating. I just rewatched the game and the spot was off by half a yard to a yard. When he ran out it looked as if he went out at the 43 and the ball at the 42.5. Either way he was past the 42 yard line. Refs have always been bad and it is just something teams have to play with, until we frount more money for better refs or fire the ones we have.
3)YES WE CAN RUN
4)Riddle is a beast but he stays in the pocket too long and isn't the best scrambler. BUT..... Hes got an arm.
