Brian Babin has definitely improved at quarterback since last year, especially with a Division I transfer (Tyler Beatty) coming in and opposing defenses keying on Jay Lucas and the run game.

Newbill has been impressive at linebacker, but Tommy Connors has paced us on defense. Turner is Turner ... makes his kicks (except for the miss at SFA).

Agree that Newbill and Connors have been outstanding, but not so sure Ryan Godare hasn't played better than both of them. Right now, he's our most consistent defensive player. Front seven in general has been very good. Would also add that Chris Wilson and Simmie Yarborough have made HUGE impacts offensively, and are key reasons why Babin has been able to elevate his game.
