Top 10 just missed the cut:
Georgia Southern, Montana State, Citadel, Cornell, Eastern Washington

*Samford and Weber State made monstrous leaps forward in the Sagarin
*Western Kentucky is rated higher than Delaware. ;) it also helps when you have the 52nd strongest schedule according to Sagarin.

This has to be from last week. Theres no way that Elon is #17 and Furman is #13 after we beat em 31-10 yesterday. Throw in the #7 ranking in TSN poll and I just can't beleive the Sagarin poll for a second.

And to think that some thought Phil Steele was stupid for projecting 4 CAA teams in the top 10. :)

Although I do think it is still early and they will likely beat up on each other. The one thing they do have right is that they projected JMU to beat ASU and be #1, which they still are. They are the only ones to not pick ASU but still a long way to go. Thank god we have playoffs to figure all this out! :)

Hey WKU, saw your guys in person yesterday...not too shabby in that environment. Your option QB was quite the player. I was hoping to get my picture taken with your Red Thing, but he never came close enough. Maybe next time. What league are you guys in, or are you an independent this year?

WKU is an independent this year, the Sun Belt in 2009. xthumbsupx

So Big Red was in Blacksburg. I was not there. Hope to come to Bowling Green for Homecoming on 11/1. xthumbsupx

I think one premise that a power rating system incorporates, and indeed has to incorporate, is that the better team doesn't win every game. Doesn't mean it's right in this case. But it's the way it works.

In a human poll, having a better record and also winning head to head is probably going to end up getting you ranked higher. But Sagarin's system emphasizes margin of victory only in the context of who teams have played.

Doesn't matter. Elon controls its own destiny.
