Nice first-half effort by the Dukes...Albany, again, calling a rather conservative game.
I am getting a bit bored. Albany needs to realize this is the 21st Century and open the playbook...not with trick plays but recruiting a nice QB to go with the running game; WVU of this level.

And Espo is playing horrendous again. I am not quite sure about the infatuation with him. He just threw to a blanketed Tim Bush; 4 DB's were on him.

Turnover...Albany recovers...goes 19 yards culminating in a 2yd plunge by Esposito.
14-7 Great Danes, Early 2Q.

Albany 20-17 at the half, missed an XP on a high snap. Dukes TE has 7 or 8 catches, but Danes picked off the last attempt to him

UA has always been conservative. Without a QB you really have no choice. As long as you win games, I wouldn't worry.
McCarty had 100+ in the first half. What a player!

When we were DII we showed less conservative play-- Joe Savino would have played at a much higher level if he were not a 5'9 QB....had a nice arm and was accurate.

I find this comical. The coaching staff is finally calling the plays (slants, screens, outs) we have wanted all year...and bang...2 TD's passing.
I still didnt like Espo today...missed some open guys...but maybe he can grow from it.
Check this stat line.
10 - 18, 38yds 3TD's

What's going on? Same ole. D played well...was not overly impressed with the Dukes QB...though he did get big yards he was sloppy. McCarty and Nguti were beasts...no doubt in my mind that the scouts will draft this kid...they were in attendance today and he pummeled people.
Espo was awful IMHO...the gameplan boring....and predictable.
REGRESSION THIS GAME.
Lucky to get out with a win...but I do believe we win 8 out of 10 against the Dukes if we played them this year.

Well McCarty really turned it around this week:
34 for 226 and a 6.6 avg.

Thank goodness that's over. Disappointed in the score, but thank GOD the road trip is over!
Danes get to finally come home! This was a trap game to an extent and I'm glad the Danes pulled it off.

Not really a good performance. 10 penalties for 103 yds., the first two fumbles lost this year. Missed two extra points (bad snaps). Didn't recover the onside kick at the end.
McCarty 37-230, 3 catches for 60 and 1 TD. Took advantage of 3 ints and recovering 2 of 5 Dukes fumbles.
