Now I remembered how I did this last year. It wasn't four different polls, but one for each league.
Who will be in the ALCS?

Rays/Red Sox
Finally something to get me away from the Bucs. xlolx Only bad thing about this season is it overshadowed the Gators losing at home to Ole Miss. xlolx

I picked Rays/Angels because I don't give a rats arse about either of them. Red v White would be most interesting to me. That's why it won't happen. :(

Ray Angels
With the Angels ending the Rays Cinderella year.

The Angels have owned the Sox this year; but the Sox have been a clutch post-season team and I think the pitching match-ups work in their favor: Lester v. Lackey; Dice-K v. Santana; and Beckett v. Saunders. In the first two games, I give the Sox a nod, and the third game, Beckett by a solid margin -- assuming he's physically ready, the guy is a post-season monster.
Look for the Sox to continue their post-season mastery over the Angels.
The rested Rays are ready for the White Sox. I don't remember any team ever having to win three must-win games in the three days prior to the playoffs starting. I like the Rays, especially since it appears that the Sox don't play well on artificial turf.

Rays and Angels
Rays run wild against Chicago, and I think this is the Angels' year

I got a PM from Travis saying that he likes my pick.
Need I remind him that I've picked the Yankees every year since 2001? xlolx

99 Mets had to win four in a row. Down 2 with 3 to go, swept the weekend to tie the Reds for the WC, then beat Cincy in a one-game playoff on Monday. Flew overnight to start the series in Arizona the next day (didn't have as much time between as they do now), and beat the DBacks in four.
Rockies last year were down 2 with 2 to go, won those two and beat the Pads in a one-game playoff and we know what they did.
In theory I do agree with you, but baseball and momentum are funny things.

Oh and I'm picking an all-Sox series.

Rays vs. Angels, for a change.
Red Sox, remember, couldn't stand the Angels in the regular season.

The Angels dominated the Sox this year, but only in 4 of the games did the Sox have a starter who is pitching in this series. Still not a good record, but easier to write it off as small sample size. KRod walks a lot of guys; the Sox led the AL in walks...not a good combo.
