Where was that pitch to Thome at?

BisonBacker

Punto's battling at this at bat

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 08:16 PM
Punto walks YES

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 08:18 PM
Sox really worried about the Twins speed.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 08:21 PM
Twins out, haven't done anything so far.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 08:26 PM
Nice quick inning for Blackburn

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 08:31 PM
Again the Twins do nothing in the third inning. Can't win this way.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 08:32 PM
Twins hitters look like little leaguers so far tonight. Pathetic.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 08:41 PM
Blackburns battling I'll give him that. He's done better then I thought he would.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 08:41 PM
What happened to you Thunderstruck?

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 08:43 PM
Twins still don't have a hit yet. Unbelievable.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 08:45 PM
As soon as I say that Cuddyer gets a double.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 08:49 PM
Twins can't get a run in from third with one out. Cuddyer thrown out by Griffey at the plate. Pierzynski is an ass as usual.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 08:51 PM
Twins better watch out this next inning will be critical after that. They will be pumped up. Blackburn can't leave anything hanging out over the plate. This game is tight.

So, besides BisonBacker going for the all time most posts in a 3 page thread, what is the score?

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 08:55 PM
three up and three down for Chicago, Blackburn is doing very well for the Twins.

Thunderstruck84
September 30th, 2008, 08:55 PM
What happened to you Thunderstruck?
Still here.

Blackburn brought his A game tonight but so did Danks. Destined to be a tight one I guess.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 08:59 PM
Twins not playing small ball at all. Gotten away from their game.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:00 PM
Mauer and Morneau no shows in this one so far thats not good for the Twins.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:05 PM
It's still 0-0

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:06 PM
Danks pitch count getting up there. I wonder if he will make it out for the next inning?

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:10 PM
Blackburn is pitching a gem.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:11 PM

Ha I had a 9 pager going last night mostly myself.:D

Thunderstruck84
September 30th, 2008, 09:11 PM
The stakes are going up exponentially with each inning. Any run now puts huge pressure on the other team. Mauer and Morneau to lead off the inning.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:12 PM
Danks is back out for the 7th inning.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:13 PM
God Morneau looks awful

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:15 PM
Twins have no offense.

Yeah like I said Mauer and Morneau are no shows tonight. Hell put Redmond in for the Twins. Do something to light a fire under them.

Luckily, neither do the Sox right now either.

BisonBacker

Yeah but with the effort Blackburns giving them tonight he deserves better.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:19 PM
There's the game

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:19 PM
Twins had a good year but they don't have the offense to come back from anything tonight.

Thunderstruck84
September 30th, 2008, 09:24 PM
That should do it for Blackburn. Great outing, he came to play.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:27 PM
I have no complaints about Blackburn tonight, he pitched his ass off. If the Twins had any hitting he'd be in line for a Win tonight. As it is he's getting a taste of what Santana had to deal with for years. No run support.

Thunderstruck84
September 30th, 2008, 09:29 PM
Pierzynski doing his little shimmy.... it makes the women here in the cities puke.

Thunderstruck84
September 30th, 2008, 09:32 PM
Good job by Mijares to limit the damage. White Sox lead 1-0 going into the 8th

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:33 PM
I used to like him as a player but he's nothing but an ASS. Even Ozzie said it, he's alienated himself with pretty much every team he's played for.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:34 PM
I can't believe Mauer tried bunting either. Pretty sad when your big gun is trying to get a bunt cuz he can't hit ****.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:37 PM
Just the second hit of the game and were in the freaking 8th inning.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:40 PM
****ing Punto and no offense again on the part of the Twins

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:40 PM
I really wish the Twins would get rid of Punto, I don't care how good he is supposed to be on defense he can't hit crap.

BisonBacker
September 30th, 2008, 09:41 PM
Just three outs left for the Twins and the season will be over. Unbelievable.

Just got in the door. I have no voice. It was an absolutely amazing game. Phenominal starting pitching by both teams. I have never seen so many people dressed in black (40,000+) in one place. When Griff threw the player out at home, I thought the stadium was going to collapse, and then when Thome hit the HR I thought it would collapse again. Absolutely amazing environment!!!

Yes it was. This was baseball 1-0. Not 9-8.

Nobody beat a Cy Young winner.

Nobody came from 2 runs down in the 13th inning against the best closer ever.

Matt Holliday touched the plate.

Rockies-Padres was better.xcoffeex

1 total run allowed versus 17 xrulesx
7 total hits versus 29 hits xrulesx
0 errors versus 1 error xrulesx

the Cy Young winner choked and allowed, what 5 runs? Maybe 4 runs. Two "scrub" pitchers here allowed 1 run in a stadium that gives up the most HR's in baseball on a yearly basis.

If you think Rockies/Pads was better, then you are not a fan of real baseball. Give me a 2-1, 1-0, 3-2 game any day over a 9-8, 12-10 game any day.

I appreciate a good pitcher's duel as much as the next guy, but Sox/Twins was a snoozefest.

You just lost all credibility in baseball with that comment. My God.xnonono2x xnonox

This Sox game wasn't the best game I have seen. That would be Game 2 of the ALCS in 2005 where Crede won it in the 9th with a double, AJ reached 1st on the dropped 3rd, and Buehrle was coming out for the 10th if we didn't score.

2-1. 12 total hits. 4 errors however -3 though by the angels.

Name one better. The one tonight certainly wasn't. If you think it was, you'd probably like soccer and watching paint dry.

The Rockies/Pads game was the best game I've ever been to. We beat the Cy Young winner and the greatest closer of all time. It was the Rockies' 14th win in 15 games. There were two very controversial plays that changed/ended the game.

2-1. 12 total hits. 4 errors however -3 though by the angels.

9-8. 13 innings, 4 lead changes, 4 (really 5) home runs. I still get chills thinking about it.

I'm a baseball purist. 9-8 is not a good game. A good game is great pitching, timely hitting, and great defense. Your game had horrible pitching, everyone hitting the horrible pitching and noone making plays.

As I've already said, I will take a 2-1, 1-0, 3-2 game over a 9-8 game any day of the week.

What do you mean no one making plays??? There was one error, and it came in the 11th inning!

No matter which game was better, even Ozzie couldn't match the postgame quote from Jamey Carroll, who got the game-winning RBI in the '07 tiebreaker:

"I'm gonna go get drunk!!!"

Sox rotation is Vazquez, Buehrle, Danks, and Floyd...

Bo-no I listened to TBS, THEY SUCKED...Eck was rippin the Sox pretty good during the pre-game, then picked them to win, he seemed clueless

You can debate better game all you want but for a 1-0 game at USCF with the way those 2 kids threw was phenominal...I was on the edge of my seat every pitch as every pitch was a potential momentum shift...If you watched the Sox and Twins down the stretch you will figure out that the pitching had gone away and we all expected a 9-8 game but got a beauty

And I dont care what they say, Thome's BOMB was 500+, if you have ever been to USCF, you will realize just how far a BOMB that was...461 my ass!!!
