PRINCETON, N.J. — Jonathan Meyers was not sure he was in the right place.

His uncertainty was understandable. After all, this moment could have come in front of 90,000 adoring fans on one of the nation’s top football teams while wearing the same helmet as a Heisman Trophy winner. Instead, Meyers was here, in an empty and silent basement lecture hall.

Call it freshman eagerness, or call it nervousness. He had set his alarm clock with two hours to spare and had shown up a half-hour early for the start of his college career at Princeton, despite living just a five-minute walk from his destination.

So, carrying a backpack over his shoulders rather than football pads for this symbolic occasion, Meyers marched his high-top sneakers to the front of the room, took his preferred seat and waited.

Given his ranking (11th nationally in ILBs), he received offers from 30+ schools (both FBS and FCS) and chose Princeton over the rest, even his dad's alma mater (Florida).

But what's interesting is that his Princeton story started in lacrosse.

See for yourself. xcoffeex
