Congrats Furman on the hard fought win. Way to represent the SoCon.
Great win for the program. Furman didnt play well, (some costly penalties) but still manage to do what they had to do to get the Victory. A WIN is a WIN. Best of the luck as Conference play starts. Hopefully you will make a big splash on your way to a playoff run.

For Delaware, time to regroup from that poor performance all around from the coaching staff to the players on the field. Way to many mistakes. Coaching staff needs to not abandon a run especially after the QB throws INT and to allow him to throw again for another INT instead of run.
UD need to tighten up all of those costly turnovers.
On a positive note, only lose by 2 points and the back up QB is better then the starter.

My sig was up many weeks before the season started...no reason to change it. I don't care about his awkward throwing style...I've watched him for a while and the guy just throws some "stupid" balls.

The fact that the backup is better than the starter cannot be positive unless he actually sees the field.

Really really disappointed in the coaching staff on this one.
Keeler can say the team underacheived all he wants. The coaches did not put the team in a position to win. And it's starts with their choce of Quarterback and ends with their failure to recognize (or admit) it.

True. Ritacco should be a better fit and according to coaches the QB competition came down to the last days before Maryland.

Schoenhoft has the dubious distinction for he tied a school record by throwing four interceptions today.

I'm thinking 2 INTs on consecutive plays from scrimmage has to be a NCAA record. Maybe a football record for all levels of play.

i disagree with your brothers assesment...with 4 picks including 1 for a TD Delaware should have lost by much more...the reason the did'nt lose by more is they were better on the LOS...that statement might seem outlandish but thats what I saw...just got killed by all the mistakes

Both teams played pretty sloppy. Schoenhoft's turnovers didn't help but FU had 3 of their own.

UD had some pretty untimely (and big...15 yard variety) penalties that didn't help either.

UD really threw the ball too much considering how well they were running the ball on us. Really surprised they didn't just grind it out on the ground after that nice drive they had in the 1st. Also surprised they didn't target Agnone more than they did.

Overall, UD certainly didn't help themselves out but it wasn't like UD's screw ups were the only reason FU won. FU did play well enough, and the secondary had a good game (probably figured that out from the 4 INT's) and made some very big plays (the INT for the TD and the INT in the endzone to end a UD drive).

It's late and I'm tired from driving all day, but hopefully that little rundown helps (and that it made sense:p ...I'm beat!xnodx

And don't forget the blown call on the punt. Delaware punts, FU returner catches ball and is immediately popped by Delaware cover man, fumbles and Delaware recovers in scoring position.

SoCon ref throws flag. One big problem. Two-yard halo rule was done away with. There was no penalty on the play. KC explains this to refs, as could clearly be heard on the radio. SoCon refs won't listen. Call wrongfully stands.

Those three+ points alone win the game for Delaware.

Oh well. Thems da breaks!

I'm with you there. Definitely a blown call.

I could run down a list (don't feel like it at the moment), but both teams received their share of blown calls (including a blatant pass interference no-call that cost the Paladins 3 or 7 points). That's the way that SoCon refs roll; they're normally pretty bad, but at least they're pretty bad for both teams.
