"Appalachian State boasted the most All-Americans from 2004-07: 27, including 19 first-team selections. Northern Iowa (20) was second, followed by Montana (17) and Southern Illinois (17), which tied for third."

Heck, the majority of those AA players are Sports Network 1st team, 2nd team, 3rd team, and honorable mention. TSN's 1st-3rd teams as most AA teams give it to about 13-14 guys on each side of the ball + special teams. Their Honorable Mention has enough players listed to fill up about a 1/2 doz more teams. So they bestow AA status to about 9 teams worth of players. They give it to everyybody and his brother. I don't think those honorable mentions should even count and I certainly don't look at them as an AA player. Unless someone made 1st, 2nd, or 3rd team on one of the 5 or however many their is major AA teams named (some don't do a 2nd and/or 3rd team) I don't look at them as an AA player.
