at least according to ESPN

43. Yale Bowl
Location: New Haven, Conn. Opened: 1914. Capacity: 64,246.
Because it was the first bowl stadium, leading the way for the Rose Bowl and Michigan Stadium, among others.

"Slight" New York bias, next time just write a tribute to Yankee Stadium going to the wrecking ball versus wasting our time.

Very cool.
As I've mentioned before, I grew up less than a mile from Yale Bowl.
I've attended events at the following venues:
1. Yankee Stadium
3. Madison Square Garden
11. Fenway Park
28. Shea Stadium
34. The Palestra
38. The Spectrum
43. Yale Bowl
71. Franklin Field

I love how they included ESPN headquarters. xlolx xlolx xlolx
Rose bowl is awesome along with Madison Square Garden. xthumbsupx xthumbsupx
And I think the 400,000 people on the Indianapolis 500 is astounding. It's gotta be the largest sporting event.

Can't believe Sun Devil Stadium isn't on there.
It is the birthplace of the Fiesta Bowl, 1987, 89, 96, 98, 2003 NCAA championships. Was the first BCS bowl to not have a BCS team play (Utah). Hosted Superbowl XXX. Those alone should be enough to crack the top 100 huh?

Sun Devil Stadium was a grievous omission.
Much as I hate it... Ralph Engelstead Arena should have been included for it's reflection on the power of donors to influence University policy
I also think not including the office of Dr. Andrews in Alabama was a mistake. So too was not including IMG, or the offices of Drew Rosenhaus or Scott Boras... or maybe their houses...

Not bad....but very slanted toward the 'major' sports. USA/Today had a list of the most venerable sports venues by sport. Lehigh's Grace Hall was listed in collegiate wrestling. Affectionately called the "Snake Pit" and featured in Sports Illustrated back in the 1960's, it is one of the best venues to watch a wrestling match and still has it's old-time charm despite recent renovations.xnodx

We all know what the most egregious omission was...
