Now this sounds more like the team I've been watching the last two years:

JSU 43, TTU 17

JSU gets 438 yards of total offense, with 163 of it coming from RB Clay Green. The vast bluk of his yards came on two plays, an 81-yard TD run and an amazing 63-yard run where he broke at least 8 tackles before T-Tech finally brought him down at the 7. Tech had just 55 yards on the ground, though they managed 300 yards of total offense.

Now the Gamecocks get the week off to prepare for Samford, then host OVC-leading Eastern Illinois in the last game of the season. We need EKU to lose to UT-Martin, Murray or Tenn. State to make it to the playoffs without drawing straws.

Yes, there will be a 3 way tie between Jax State, Eastern Kentucky & Eastern Illinois for the OVC Championship if JSU beats Eastern Illinois & Eastern Kentucky wins the rest of their games and JSU Beats Samford in 2 weeks.

Per your request here is your answer via the OVC web site of how the OVC will break the three way tie. Their Answer to the problem is about as well organized and thought out as a kindergarden Party. It really sucks to be honest. What is your thoughts? The flip of a coin is not the answer to this problem. Are we playing football or are we pitching pennies for the OVC Football Championship? REALLY? COME ON OVC lets rethink this position on a tie breaker!!!!!

Championship Tiebreaker Policy

Conference Champion.
The Conference football champion shall be determined on the basis of Conference contests won and lost. To be eligible for the championship, a member must play a Conference-approved schedule.

NCAA Automatic Qualifier.
The Conference automatic qualifier to the Division I-AA Football Championship shall be the regular season champion. In the event of a tie, the following formulas will be used:

TWO-WAY TIES

1.) A two-way tie shall exist only if the tied teams have the same number of losses.

2.) Should two teams have the same number of losses, and the two teams played each other during the regular season, the winner of the head-to-head contest shall be the league’s postseason representative.

3.) If the two tied teams have the same number of losses, but did not play each other during the regular season, the following procedure shall be utilized to break the tie:

a.) A comparison of each team’s head-to-head record against the team occupying the highest position in the regular-season standings that each team has played. If one team won its game against that team, the winning team shall be declared the representative.

b.) Should the procedure outlined in Item a. fail to break the tie, the process will continue to the next-place team and beyond until the tie is broken.

c.) When arriving at another group of tied teams, composite records between the tying teams shall be utilized to determine if one of the tied teams has won more games against the group of tied teams.

4.) If the procedures described previously fail to break the tie, the representative shall be determined by a coin flip.

1.) A multiple tie (three or more teams) shall exist only if the tied teams have the same number of losses.

2.) If all of the teams involved in the multiple tie played each other during the regular season, then the composite records among the tied teams shall be compared to break the tie.

3.) If the process outlined in Step 2 reduces the tie to a tie among two teams, the two-team tiebreaker formula shall then be utilized.

4.) If not all of the tied teams played each other during the regular season, or if step 2 does not break or reduce the tie, the following procedure shall be utilized:

a.) A comparison of each of the tied teams’ head-to-head record against the team occupying the highest position in the regular-season standings that each team has played. If one team won its game against that team, the winning team shall be declared the representative.

b.) Should the procedure outlined in Item a. fail to break the tie, the process will continue to the next-place team and beyond until the tie is broken.

c.) When arriving at another group of tied teams, composite records between the tying teams shall be utilized to determine if one of the tied teams has won more games against the group of tied teams.

Thanks for the info. So basically if you all finish with same conference record with one loss you flip a coin.

It does suck but I don't know how else you do it without considering margin of victory which I don't personally like either. Would not be that big of an issue if there was a possibility of more than one team in the playoffs.

Can Murray State Beat Eastern Kentucky. If EKU Wins and EIU & JSU ties EKU is playoff bound. If Murray St beats EKU and JSU can beat EIU at HOME with a Packed house and standing room only. JSU goes to the playoffs. Will JSU beat a hungry Samford team in Brimingham? Then can JSU return to Jacksonville to beat a good team from Eastern Illinois? There is a lot of football to be played in the next 3 weeks

Eastern Illinois game Saturday night in Nashville is not much to concentrate on. It will be a blow out. Unless E. Illinois has lost most of their team this past Saturday in the game against Tenn. Martin.

Now back to your question. They (The OVC Office) have also mentioned drawing straws and not fliping a coin. :(
