PAC-10 or MWC?

If you look head to head, the MWC is currently 4-0. Wins of 28-27, 31-14, 36-28, and 59-0 ASU-UNLV is currently tied at 10.

So which do you think?

it would be important to know which teams were involved in those games.

Except for the UNLV-ASU game, you've pretty much had the top MWC teams beating the bottom PAC-10 teams.

UCLA beat Tennessee...

New Mexico is slated to be 5th in a nine team league...

Time will tell whether that was a fluke or not.

Don't get me wrong, BYU has a great team this year, and the MWC does look strong, but I think the PAC10 will prove to be better by the end.

Probably due to USC. You don't think BYU, Utah, and TCU would finish in the top three of the PAC-10? You've got Oregon who had issues with Purdue. ASU got beat. The Washington schools aren't very good, Oregon State isn't much better (They play in Salt Lake City this year). Stanford is in rebuilding mode. Cal slept through Maryland. Arizona was beat by an average MWC team. Oregon and USC are the only ones that would really get an at large BCS bid. Utah and BYU can as well.

Both conferences are better than the Big East and probably the ACC.

Well Oregon struggled against Purdue...but Purdue is a team picked I think third or fourth in the Big Ten? OSU, Wisconsin, Illinois maybe?

ASU lost in OT...upsets happen.

USC, Oregon, Cal (if they actually want to play), and ASU carry the rest of the conference. One of the most unequal conferences top to bottom in the country.

The MWC is getting better, I wouldn't label them best of the west or anything. Easily the strongest non-BCS conference. They're better than the Big East and maybe slightly better than the ACC. Granted the ACC is starting the show they know how to play football again.

I'm waiting for the best of the MWC and the best of the WAC to merge and make a bid for a 7th BCS conference.

the talent is there, and the facilities are there

BYU
Utah
Boise St.
New Mexico
Hawaii
TCU
UTEP (from C-USA)
Fresno St.

Air Force could also make a claim to such a conference

Not that great in basketball, though. UNLV is needed for that.

There's always been a clamor for BYU and Utah to join the PAC-10.
