HU fans were treated to a great effort over the web. Closer than expected game with SIU in Carbondale. HU lost 37-31 bu discovered that it did in fact have a QB ready to step up in place of the ineligible TJ Mitchell. Next up is Howard University. Also known as the "Artificial HU." Almost three times the size of HU yet lacking the tenacious attitude to secure regular wins. The Battle for the title of the 'Real HU' ended some time ago but we like to pull it out and dust it off to get the crowds energized. Prediction:
HU 38
Howard 10

I think this will be an opportunity to have some of the young guys on the field for playing time.

I don't think this one will be the 50 point win of years past. We still have some kinks in the armor trying to run that mucked up offense of Jerry Holmes. I believe that we will win, but it will be more like a 35-9 score.

Hampton 52-Howard 7. Howard only scored 7 vs Georgetown. If their defense doesn't score they may get shutout.

I might have to check out a few MEAC games this season. I'm glad I ran across this site. I don't get to run across too much FCS discussion these days

I think the funky offense is a direct result of the offensive line's inability to move folks off the line of scrimmage. That SIU game showed how slow our troops in the trenches are and how that affects what should be a very explosive running game.

HU has got to get away from the slow starts.
Too many yards given up.
