Monmouth blew this game. Not to take anything away from Maine but that last td never should have occurred Monmouth knocks it down like you are supposed to and the outcome may have been extremely different, but we will never know

Agreed that Maine got a very lucky TD......but Maine has been EXTREMELY unlucky the past couple of seasons so I'll take it! xthumbsupx

To be fair, we are owed a bad one. Monmouth beat RMU a few years ago on the same play. Our guy tipped it to another one of our receivers on the last play of the game.

Yup, I was in AC and had seen the score right after RMU scored and the time left. Then was stunned MU had won when I saw the final a few hours later!!! Don't know if he pushed off or not, wasn't there but I'll take your word for it!!

Because the treatment and coaching of kickers in that program is clueless at best and neglectful at worst.

A few years ago Maine brought in a kicker, from in state, who was being recruited to be a "preferred walk on" at Stanford but didn't want to go that far or pay for the school. He quit after four days of practice. He didn't kick one ball. All they had him do was hold the first down markers during scrimmages. Would he have been a stand out? Who knows. But this was not an isolated tale. Just playing intramural soccer during my years on campus, I think I met about four kids who started their freshman years kicking for the Bears, and left after less than a month.

You and I could probably sit here and point at ten games in the past few years that Maine would have won had they even had an "embarrassingly bad" kicking game rather than a "criminally negligent" kicking game.
