Coastal Carolina University that is starting only it's 6th year of football, can lay claim to 4 NFL players...
2 that were drfafted, and two free agents...
Tyler Thigpen was drafted in the 7th round by Minnesota, then put on the waiver list( they really wanted him on the Practice squad) but was picked up by the KC Chiefs...
Quiton Teal... Free agent that made the Carolina Panthers squard last year..
Jerome Simpson... the 2nd round draft choice by the Bengals this year...
and...
Mike Tolbert... a free agent pick by San Diego this year...
all four made it to the 53 player cut..
Tolbert will probably start in the FB position for the Chargers on opening day...
Simpson, if not starting will see a lot of playing time for the Bengals on opening day...
Thigpen is a backup QB... should see some playing time this year...
Teal, will see a lot of playing time both on defense, and more on special teams.
In my mind... not bad for a fledgling program...
