I just turned it on, with hopes of seeing Chad Rinehart get some playing time in the later stages of the game. But he's only listed as a backup (at LG), so who knows.

didn't see the play in question though

I'm pulling for Brandon Jacobs and Santana Moss (fantasy players) but don't really care what the outcome is.
Any idea why Jacobs hasn't been in for almost ten minutes of play?

I have Santana in Fantasy, but didn't put him in. My brother has Jacobs, but put portis in instead.

Santana sitting seems like a good pick, but he might be regretting his RB pick. Oops

the Giants look tough. They have dominated this entire game except the last drive of the first half. The Skins didn't complete a pass until after the 2 minutes left in the first half.

Why in hell do the refs have black piping on their white pants...that looks so bad

I wonder how long the Skins will put up with Campbell at QB.

And start Colt Brennan? Not only a new system for him, but for the rest of the team too...

Redskins looked disorganized on offense, especially in their two minute offense. Giants defense looks good, even with their losses.

The Redskins looked awful. Campbell looked completely lost. Zorn seems like he learned how to manage a clock from the great Herm Edwards. When Randle El is your #2 receiver you know you have a problem. Why don't they throw the ball to Cooley 10 times a game? And that offensive line is so old. Samuels=31, Fabini=34, Kendall=35, Rabach=30, Thomas=32. How many ex-Jets do they have on that line anyway?

On defense they didn't look much better. They had no pash rush despite bringing in Taylor, although he is banged up right now and looked hurt. The secondary is joke. They need Springs back in a bad way. And even he isn't that far above an average corner. The funny thing about the NFL is as bad as the Skins looked last night I can still easily see them overachieving and getting 9-10 wins.

The Giants looked good, not great.

I thought the Giants looked great early and then kept get booged down late... Washington made some good adjustments on D to stop them late in the game... at the same point what a way to start the game after all the talk about osi and strahan gone... and tuck comes in there and gets a sack on the first play... the giants defense looked very good all night... or maybe the redskins O sucks...

I'd agree with this point. xthumbsupx xlolx But really how effective can a QB be if he's never had a stable system. Campbell 7 Coordinators in 7 years (college and pro), that kid's brain has to be scrambled from the changes. Brennan will have the same result if the O-Line doesn't improve.

But we all know these guys along with the Eagles are fighting for second place in the NFC East. xreadx xlolx Only this time the 'Boys will finish the job in the playoffs. xthumbsupx

Giants did what they had to do to win

Eli got a bit lucky that Washington's DBs had a serious case of the drops, but many of his throws were pretty good

They've got to find a way to convert those deep drives into TDs more often

Kickoff coverage was not so good, especially right before the half on that one that put the Skins in good position for their only TD

Defense was solid all night, though they were helped considerably at the end by Washington's terrible clock-management

I'd rather be 1-0 than 0-1 xnodx
On to St. Louis xthumbsupx

Hate to say it, but I agree. Living in the DC area as an Eagles fan hasn't been fun. Having to listen to fans brag about Super Bowls gone by like they got their own ring for them. Having to suffer through every up and down year after year after year...

Washington fans are absolutely terrible at supporting a team that sucks. To be fair, it might just be that they haven't sucked long enough. They just don't realize that one win (or heaven forbid three pre-season wins) does NOT mean they are back and on their way to the Super Bowl.

There were many events over the past 10 +/- years that gradually rebuilt my hatred of the Skins. I actually started to almost feel bad for them, and almost rooted for them when it didn't affect the Iggles.

1. Marty Schottenheimer is released as coach after one year at the helm. An 0-5 start and a 8-3 finish to finish second in the NFC East and only miss the playoffs by one game. WTF?

2. Steve Spurrier is announced as the HC and immediately fans forget about Marty and swear that the Ball Coach is going to bring an exciting offense to the Skins and lead them back to the playoffs. After Spurrier fails and announces he's going back to the college ranks, the fans all claim they knew he wouldn't make it in the NFL. xcoolx

3. Joe Gibbs is announced as the HC and immediately fans forget about Spurrier and swear that St. Joe is going to lead them back not only to the playoffs, but to another ring (which the fans will receive). After Gibbs fails and announces he's going back to NASCAR, the fans all claim they knew the NFL had passed by the old man.

4. LaVar Arrington is left out of the lineup to start the 2005 season and every single sports talk guy and fan calling into the shows decry the decision by Gibbs and Williams saying they HAVE to find a way to get one of their most talented players in the game. After a bitter contract dispute and the Skins making the playoffs anyway, the fans ALL turned on LaVar calling him overrated and greedy. xnonono2x

5. The Skins win the first three pre-season games this year and fans are now ready for their new coach, Jim Zorn, to lead them to the promised land. People are saying the offense is clicking on all cylinders and when Portis gets added full-time they will be a force to be reckoned with.

Two pre-season games later, they have all jumped the ship and are proclaiming this a rebuilding year and are hoping for an 8-8 finish. After last night's predictable outcome, I'm sure they will scale it back to 7-9 and be calling for Zorn's head by November. xcoffeex

89Hen, Awesome post. I'm a Jets fan living in Skins land myself. I was pretty indifferent to the Redskins until I moved to NoVA but I soon realized how annoying Redskins fans are. The only thing I enjoy as much as a Jets win is a Redskins loss. I love coming into work the day after a loss (like today) and seeing that dejected look on everyone's face. Does that make me a bad person?

I was wrong. Saw on the local news last night that 60% of the fans that voted in their poll over the weekend think the Skins will win 6 or fewer games this year. xlolx Just wait until they win their next game and 70% think they are playoff bound.

How many games will the Redskins win this season?
Percentage of 750 Votes
6 or less 58%
7-8 28%
9-10 11%
11 or more 4%
