As reported in the Newark Post sports section today, Delaware has the hardest schedule in the A10 and the 8th toughest in the country... Now before you all start bashing the Newark Post, this is where I work so be kind. I am not sure where the sports editor got this information, but he is not one to report frivolous stories. Anyway, I thought some of you would think this is interesting seeing as our schedule has been attacked for being "weak" in the past...

I'd have to dispute that just on the basis of other teams in the A-10 playing a Division I team for an out of conference schedule. I think a few have, haven't they?? Too lazy to look at other teams schedules, but I could have swore that the Virginia teams play a I-A team. And doesn't Maine play like Nebraska and Miss State?

Not the greatest method since it only takes into account W-L record of opponents. Do you really think Gardner-Webb's schedule of Union, Bellehaven, UT-Martin, Furman, Hampton, Coastal and VMI is the second toughest in the country?

I would give A-10's toughest schedule to Northeastern. They play Northwestern State, Youngstown St, and Georgia Southern this year as well as their normal A-10 slate. No I-A teams but 3 solid I-AA

I agree with N'Eastern having the toughest schedule.

Easily the toughest all I-AA schedule.

Looks to me like he got it from the link provided by UMass74. UD ranks as the 8th toughest schedule in the cummulative opposition column. Like 89hen said...

Even though UD would be eighth toughest in the country using that method, they would still rank behind JMU in the A-10.
Stats are slippery things when you want to use them to support your position.

Can't be anywhere near as tough as UD's out of conference schedule.
