One undrafted free agent overcame long odds to make the roster - fullback Mike Tolbert of Coastal Carolina.

"It was difficult," Tolbert said. "This is one of the three elite teams in the NFL so I knew it was going to be hard at first but once I got out here and realized I could play with these guys, I had it set in my mind that I could actually play this game and play for this team."

The Coastal Carolina product opened eyes beginning in the offseason program. He was a preeseason standout and basically secured his spot on the roster weeks ago. The Chargers think they really have something in Tolbert.

That is so great for Mike. I know his mom is very proud of him and so is everyone at Coastal. He has a real chance to be a starter this season. What's funny is that the Charger's first game is against Carolina, where Quinton Teal is a safety (another Coastal product). They both also play special teams. Should be interesting! ;)
Also of note, Coastal has 4 players in the NFL, Tolbert, Teal, Tyler Thigpen and Jerome Simpson and they ALL made the final cuts yesterday and are on their 53 man rosters!! xhurrayx
