Aaron Mason
Junior from Imperial Beach, CA
Position: RB
Number: 3
Height: 5-10 Weight: 186
Montana State -- (2008) Missed much of the spring with injuries… enters the fall second on the depth chart at running back. (2007) Struggled throughout the season with injuries, missing two of the team’s last three games… rushed for 226 yards and three touchdowns, and caught 11 passes for 117 yards… gained season high 62 yards with a touchdown against Dixie State. (2006) Posted the best rushing season by a freshman in school history… earned honorable mention All-Big Sky honors… gained 192 yards with two touchdowns in MSU’s season-changing win at NAU, the best rushing game by a freshman in school history… gained 128 yards against Portland State. Mar Vista -- All-South Bay second team choice as a junior… gained 768 yards rushing as a senior in four games before being shelved with an ankle injury… returned three kickoffs for touchdowns, and scampered 85 yards from scrimmage for a touchdown. Academics -- Enrolled in liberal studies. Personal -- Born Aaron Jamal Mason on September 27, 1988… the son of Patricia Matthew.
"Aaron Mason has had a terrific off-season and a great August camp. He worked extremely hard to lose some weight, get stronger, and get his speed back where it was two years ago. Right now, he is running very hard and very well and his improvement combined with the explosiveness of Demetrius Crawford will give us a super 1-2 punch out of the backfield. Both Aaron and Demetrius are excellent pass catchers out of the backfield also, and they can obviously run with the ball and make people miss after they make that catch in the open field, so they'll be tough in the pass game too."
