Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski has been hospitalized in Boston, complaining of chest pains.

Hope it is nothing serious. Best wishes to Yaz to get well soon.

Latest report is that Yaz will need a heart by-pass operation.

Will keep him in my thoughts and prayers for a complication-free surgery and a quick recovery.

Here's to you Yaz. You're the reason I became a Sox fan as a kid. My first glove, my dad gave me, had his "signature" on it. My dad told me he played for the Red Sox, and I've been a fan ever since.

I heard about this on the radio on the way home. I hope and pray he makes out well. When I was a kid YAZ was the man. When I became and adult, YAZ was still the man. I saw him play many times and consider him to be part of my childhood.

Hang in there YAZ!

Oh yeah!! xbowx xbowx xbowx xbowx

OMG, 1967 was an incredible year. How I'd love to have a highlight DVD from that season, but alas not many games were even televised let alone on tape. I wonder how many tapes of the Ned Martin radio broadcasts still exist?

Do you have The Impossible Dream album? If you do I'm sure you don't have anything to play it on. I had that album when I was a kid and played it until the needle wore through it.

Get well soon Yaz.

Actually, I do still have a turntable but I don't have the LP. One of my buddies does though. I need to have him make a copy for me! xnodx xnodx xnodx Ringy dingy dingy tomorrow!!!! And he's visiting his folks at Lake Charbaug...........never mind, Webster Lake. ;)

I know Big Papi has had a lot of clutch hits for the modern Sox, but I still don't think they match all the clutch plays that Yaz made in '67. They probably didn't keep stats on game winning hits back then. And he sure had multiple game winning plays with the leather or throwing a runner out. If there was ever a season where you wondered if someone sold their soul to the devil!!! xeekx :p :p
