Game has become bigger than it was at the start of the day, with Weber beating EWU. PSU could take sole possession of first in the Big Sky with a win, but NAU is coming off of a bye week and catches the Vikes between Montana State last week and Montana next week. Will the Vikes overlook this game? In the Big Sky this year, you cannot overlook anybody and NAU has a good team that has been on the wrong end of some breaks this year.
Kickoff coming up shortly...

NAU took opening kickoff. Good return. No Murrietta. Frosh QB in. Fumble. PSU has it.
Smith 42-yd pass to Ferigno TD PAT good...PSU 7, NAU 0. 13 mins left 1st quarter.
Stepped out for a beer and missed all this, but I think I got it.
NAU 3 and out, punting. PSU start second possession at PSU 45.

Smith 9-yd TD to Kennett PAT good. PSU 14, NAU 0 7:37 left 1st.
Murrietta not playing at least for now for the Jacks. Is on the sidelines but not in the game. NAU playing frosh QB.
Jacks D stuffing Rubin so far. Smith using the confidence in the passing from last week, so it hasn't hurt us so far.

Wow, what happened to NAU the last 2 years. They had huge hopes for Murrieta.

The season is officially lost for NAU. Bench Jason and start the freshman. Give him valuable experience, so that when Jerome and his coaching staff resign or are fired, the new coaching staff can bring in better talent.

PSU has most of the second team in since the three minute mark. NAU has the ball on the PSU 15 so we might lose the shutout.

Ah... not so fast Jalmond. (BSC) UM Griz one loss, MSU Bobs one loss, PSU Wipings... one loss. It does not look like you are all alone to me.

PSU's defense seemed the toughest of the 5 teams I've seen the Aggies play this season. I just wasn't sure that Sawyer would be able to find Bodiford and Fereeeeņo often enough to put up the W's on such a tough schedule. But his performances the past 2 weeks makes me believe the Viks can make a good run into the postseason, if they can get past UM in Missoula. It'd be a shame if it was the 2 IA losses that kept this team out of the playoffs.

We knew going in that we probably would have to win either one of the I-A games or win at either Cheney or Missoula. Still, the criteria this year is not four and you are out, its seven and you are up for consideration. I'd say right now, with our schedule and this win, we are playing better than Coastal.
Still, if we win in Missoula and then stub our toe against ISU or Weber, we would get the tiebreaker over both the Cats and Griz.
