Furman Football Fan Fest

Fun for the whole family!

Sunday, August 10 from 2-4 p.m. in Timmons Arena on the Furman University campus.
Free Furman Paladin t-shirts to the first 300 fans plus discounts coupons and an opportunity to win door prizes and gift cards from our sponsors.


The "Verizon Wireless Furman Football Fan Fest" is scheduled for Sunday, August 10 at Timmons Arena..
Admission and parking to the event is free.

Furman player and coach introductions will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed by the Verizon Wireless Playbook, where Paladin coaches and players will demonstrate several football formations and plays. Players will be available for pictures and autographs from 3:00 - 4:15 p.m. Doors to air conditioned Timmons Arena will open at 1:30 p.m.

Fans will be able to secure copies of the 2008 Paladin Football schedule poster and schedule cards. Official media guides will also be on sale for $20 each.

All fans in attendance will have the opportunity to win door prizes, including a tailgate basket featuring jams, salsas, and other goodies, as well as a $50 gift card -- both compliments of Mast General Store. In addition, fans can win gift cards from Bi-Lo Stores and a weekend stay at Myrtle beach compliments of LaQuinta Inns and Suites.

Activities for young Paladin fans are also planned, including a Kids Zone featuring face painting and inflatables. Sir Paladin, the mascot of the Paladins, will also be in attendance. Furman's players report to campus Monday, August 4, and preseason practice gets underway Aug. 5.

"This is a day we look forward to every year, " said head coach Bobby Lamb on Monday. "It is one of the fun days where we get to spend some time with the fans who are so passionate about Furman football. It's also a terrific experience for our players."
