Like the article says, Griffey has not approved it yet. The teams agreed to the deal, but Griffey needs to approve.

Yes he has, but they are talking here about it basically being a guarantee that he will come for a few months at a chance for a ring....I still don't know if I like it for my Sox.

Plus everyone know his legs aren't what they used to be. You know I'm torn on this one. How does he fit in....Sox's outfield is pretty good...obviously not gonna use him as a DH with Thome. So use him to replace Swisher in center...or what?

Swisher is a great outfielder...would be a shame to move him in.

Bison, he plays better at 1b. We need to bench PK b/c he has done nothing over the past 18 months.

Kinda like Erstad used to be, huh? Swish made a tremendous play in right last night...damn near broke the Metrodome.

But you can't move Carolos Quentin or Jermaine Dye either...so Swishers gotta move.

No way it's a 3-way trade involving Griffey. I'm a bit puzzled by this. I guess they think Griffy can play CF again and then move Swisher to 1B?

This really makes zero sense to me for the White Sox. Unless of course they are planning on moving Dye or Quentin by the end of the day. I don't see that happening either.

....just very very confused.

Could be. I guess I just don't see how this works for the White Sox...doesn't make too much sense to me. But if Griffy can be on a playoff team and play in the postseason I guess that might be worth it. If anyone deserves a good playoff series/world series appearance it's Griffy.

And this is coming from a Twins fan....i feel gross talking about the White Soxs...better go take another shower. xlolx xlolx

Don't you EVER mention Billy Bear Carlos Quentin in a trade! That makes me nauseous! He is a White Sock forever! :):)

Maybe we are trading Konerko somewhere for a few rosen bags, and some pine tar, thus Swish moves to 1B where he plays better, and then Griff goes to LF and Billy Bear to CF?

on ESPN Radio 1000 they are asking the Sox reporter if this could be part of another deal. He says it could be, but is not telling who it might be.

At least get rid of Bonser... my gawd, send him to TX for spare parts.
Send Monroe to the Rays, they want him (don't ask why) for a low level prospect.

End of the year? The last time we play you is 23-25 of Sept. I know that will be the end of the year for you guys, but that is just the end of the regular season and onto the playoffs for us! xthumbsupx

i just dont think he will be any good in centerfield... he gave that spot up 2 years ago!

Griffey was my favorite player growing up and I was thrilled when he came to Cincy since I'm a Reds fan. It's sad he didn't stay healthy and the Reds front office would build a team around him. He became the scapegoat for the Reds' failures and it's unfair and unfortunate. I hope he can win a ring in Chicago. He deserves it.

Oh, I'd like it. Griffey is coming along in his career. The more he plays he seems to always improve. With a few slump years under his belt, I think he's ready to step up his game and get that long-reaching ring of his. It's good for the Sox. Hope it goes through.

It did go thru Griz. I hope you're right about the rest.
