OXFORD, Miss. -- Mississippi will kick off its Aug. 30 football season opener with Memphis later in the day to help fans deal with the anticipated heat.
The non-conference game on the Ole Miss campus, originally scheduled for 5 p.m., will begin at 6 p.m. CST.
The school says the new kickoff time will apply to all non-television games in September, including a Sept. 15 game with Samford.
The bad part of this is that the Sept 15th game vs. Samford isn't going to be televised. :(
