Boston maybe in the early stages of a deal that would send Manny Ramirez to the LA Dodgers and at the same time aquiring Mark Teixeira without having to give up much of their own system in the process.

Boston would send Manny Ramirez to the Dodgers and the Dodgers would send prospects to Atlanta while Teixeira moves to Boston, the Red Sox would likely also send atleast one prospect to Atlanta.

The Dodgers not wanting to add payroll would likely ask Boston to pay a good chunk of what remains on Ramirez' 2008 contract as part of the deal.

What do you think of this deal Travis? I can't see where Teixeria fits in. You could move Ellsbury to LF and make Crisp the CF starter, but you really can't move Youk from first to fit in Teixeira, can you?

Well it apparently doesnt matter anymore but had it occured Youkilis would have moved to LF, he played LF and RF some the past couple years and its not as if they'd be losing any defesne having him in LF instead of Manny.

What's the latest on the BoSox interest in Astros players (see Miguel Tejada and Doug Brocail)...would they be interested in Jose Valverde?

they flatly deny any interest in Tejada and while they have interest in a few relievers the consensus is the Astros are trying to land a reliever not trade any.
