don't know when app's official fall camp starts but i hear pretty much the whole team has been back in boone and training for a while now. even the new guys.

I believe the 31st is the first allowable day per the NCAA that a teams can have players report to camp if the first game is Thurs Aug 28.


As far as 2 a days, it seems like NDSU is having less and less of those every year. I think only two days last year were double practices!


I know I read somewhere that the Chicago Bears didn't have a single double practice day in their fall camp one year. Maybe they still do that?

On Sunday, the players report for physicals and will attend a compliance meeting in the evening. Then Monday they will be issued equipment and participate in testing in the morning, before concluding testing in the afternoon with the first practice scheduled at 2:30 p.m.

The Cocks have been training this summer on their own as well. Got to love it ! But putting on the pads makes it the real deal. xnodx

What are the rules governing when a team can report? Someone mentioned "not before July 31st," but is the date further dependent on the first game? Is there a limit to two-a-days? Are there other rules governing the length of sessions, the number of two-a-days per week or in a row, the number of days per week, etc., etc.?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I think they can have 28 practices before the first game and you can't have full pad two-a-days twice in a row. You can do two practices the second day but one has to be limited to helmet and shorts. Most schools will sandwich weight training between practices during the hottest part of the day.
