Sorry so late in posting today. Sundays are workdays for me and I was also informed around noon that my uncle had passed this morning, it was unexpected. So it's just been a bummer of a day. I'll miss you Gerald!xbowx

High School: Was a triple threat for Stonewall Jackson H.S. as a running back, linebacker and punter … a three-time all-state selection and the 2005 Region Offensive Player of the Year … racked up 5,019 rushing yards, over 300 tackles and 58 touchdowns … coached by Richard Krol.

Tidwell recorded 45 tackles, two forced fumbles and a pair of interceptions as a safety last fall under head coach Kris Dutra at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria. A second-team All-Western State Conference honoree, Tidwell also blocked two kicks. Tidwell earned first-team all-conference honors as a freshman at Hancock. The Bulldogs were 6-4 in 2007 and 7-3 in 2006. At Atascadero High School, Tidwell was primarily a fullback, rushing for 789 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior in 2005 and 410 yards and three scores as a junior in 2004. The Greyhounds, coached by Vic Cooper, were 7-4 in 2005 and 3-7 in 2004. Tidwell also caught nine passes for 90 yards and a touchdown as a senior and 17 for 261 yards as a junior. He also competed in baseball, hitting .324 as a senior with eight stolen bases, and in track and field, winning the Pac 5 high jump and placing third in the long jump.
