Thanks to UCA fans for providing these links...it seems as if Rhett Bomar (SHSU) and Nathan Brown (UCA) continue to rack up the publicity. On many lists, they are the only two FCS quarterbacks ranked amongst the hierarchy of the QB world.
A page of Sporting News Today ranks Bomar as the #10 QB heading into the 2009 draft. Brown of UCA is #7.

Brown also got publicity on this below link, where he is ranked #4 QB...

This is the year and schedule that the current coaching staff needs to show they can coach in the SLC. One FBS game against a damn good Kansas team lead by a great QB. Only one warm up game against a D-II team then the rest is a steady FCS schedule. If they can't do anything with this the Hill will need to look long and hard at the situation.

Kind of ironic that Bomar was not selected to either Southland Preseason Football Teams this year.

His numbers from last season could not come close to Brown's or anyone other starting QB as he got hurt with three games to go. Hopefully he will have shown he belongs amongst the best by the season's end.

Easy enough schedule. I see you only OOC loss being Kansas. You have some of your toughest games at home. UCA on the road will be hard. If Bomar stays healthy and you find a replacement pans out for your RB then y'all should be contenders.
I didn't know the texas st game was at 2 pm. that'll be better for a trip up there.

Our season finale is always at 2 p.m. Typically the schedule starts with 6 p.m games until Homecoming when the games switch to 2 p.m Homecoming is always at 2 p.m for SHSU.

Per SLC rules, he could not be considering All-SLC selections from the previous year (Brown and Fourroux) were returning. It's of no surprise...and should not be a shocker.

I'm sure this has been talked about but I'm new to the board and don't feel like reading thousands of posts....so I'll ask. How is Bomar after the knee injury? Is he still considered a pro prospect?
I watched him in the Fargodome and he's the most gifted passing quarterback I've watched in person. Our defense was pretty good and he absolutely shredded them. If it wasn't for another miracle/clutch drive by Steve Walker SHSU would have won.
Either way, what a great game. One of the coolest things about NDSUs move up is getting to see players like Bomar. That didn't happen too often in DII.

Bomar's knee is healed 100% and he will be ready for the season.
Go to this link and read about half way down.

He may turn out to be 100% at some point, but until he gets hit, has to escape pressure, or until he proves he can bounce back week after week, there's no way to know for sure. I've been around a lot of guys with ACL injuries and nearly all of them felt great until they had to perform in a game. Not sure exactly what the date of his surgery was, but assuming it was in mid-November, we're only talking nine months post. I doubt seriously he's at 100% of what his past capabilities were. Not saying he isn't 100% healed as far as being released for normal activity, but game conditioning is a different animal.

IMO, Ohio State should drop out of the top 25. That was a down right mud whole stoppin. They put up no fight what-so-ever.
