It'll affect me. In past years I probably would've gone to see both the Delta State and Cal Poly games at McNeese. This year I'll probably only see Cal Poly.

Part of it for me, though, is it looks like I'll have to buy my son's Nissan Titan pickup that gets like 18 MPG to help him out. I'll have to donate my 230,000+ mile Ford Ranger that gets 28 MPG to charity or something.

So the combination of high gas prices and me going to a significantly lower MPG vehicle will probably have an effect. That and having two kids in college.

I think Zero threads are needed about this. If you're a serious fan, and you want to support your team ... you go.

I'm hoping the new passenger trains in NC will help. I'll be able to hop on the morning train, get off at Elon, walk to the stadium, watch the afternoon game and hop on the early evening train back all for about a $10 round trip. Should be 6 maybe 8 daily trains stopping in Elon in a year or less time.

Could have an impact, most of the time, I could care less about tailgating.

Gas prices won't have any impact on my ability to attend games, home or away, but simple logic says it will be a factor for some. More than likely, students and single parents of players will be affected the most.

Case in point...yesterday, I did a quick up and back to Memphis from Hammond, La. which is roughly 340 miles. From absolute empty, it cost me $68 to fill up on the way up, and I put in $58 on the way back. That's $126 just for gas for the same trip that cost me less than $50 round trip when I first began my current job in 1999.

The guy in the picture who's a Mississippi State alum (Duff Sudduth) has a son who played baseball at Southeastern a couple of years ago. Great guy. xthumbsupx
